So you want to get the LPA-1 Emotiva processor and use the Pioneer (Yamaha for now) as your amplifier. I cannot speak from experience but I have heard rave reviews on here regarding Emotiva products.
I am planning on picking up an amp or to in the near future as an aside. As far as a major sound increase...tough to say. The Pioneer is pushing 15 more watts/channel but receivers are notoriously underpowered. Meaning they output less than advertised due to space limitations. If you are gunning for a serious power increase, I'd recommend an Emotiva amplifier to pair with your processor. Don't get me wrong, I love Pioneer products but for your question, that is how I'd go. |
