This sort of misbehavior just reinforces the idea that many people who work in the industry think about “internet nerd forums”, namely………

1. They contain a lot of teenagers and pre-teens.
2. They contain a lot of adults with the maturity of #1.
3. They contain a lot of people that are unemployed (and were so, long before our current economic woes).

Or,
4. They contain people that are stuck in meaningless dead end jobs that have way too much time on their hands.

P.S.
And to the guy who thinks he knows what a badass is……have Bruce even indirectly test me and see what happens.
HAHAHAHA. I was referring to Bruce Willis. It's just hard to tell know that everything is merged. I posted it in the Bruce Willis thread he started.

A technical question, just curious:

All those threads have been merged into this one but when you look at the "Movie and TV Discussion" the old separate threads are still there with the mention "moved" so how long before those disappear ?

Depends on the person who moved it.... they "expire" in time.....

going forward.... "I" would leave no-redirects, but then the person doesn't realize their thread was merged..... so it's a slippery slope.

Thank you. It's hard to believe. This is all because of me.

I don't know what to think? I really don't. Thanks for your support Ron. You're one of the few. Thanks.

Well... what's the topic. This is sort of weird. All these topics rolled up into one.

So this is Bruce Potpourri. ...Or whatever I think of. Hmmm...

"Whatever we think of how cute." "It's whatever we think of."

"If we think of J. Edgar Hoover, than J. Edgar Hoover will come and destroy us."

Default Male Nudity?

In the last decade, I have seen a sharp uptake in the use of male nudity in R-rated films. From Kinsey (2004) and Sideways (2004) to The Reader (2008) and the Watchmen (2009). Is the trend: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

What does it say about changing tastes? And industry standards?

Default Ben Button and the Church?

What was it? With the church in new flicks? I found… the depiction of the church life strange and simple. I understand the film is bizarre. But why such a portrayal?

Would you even see it, if the members weren't minorities?

Name the last film, with nice Caucasian churchgoers?

…Fireproof (2009) with Kirk Cameron doesn’t count. (Non-Hollywood Production…) The Passion of the Christ (2004) was also an oddity. That was vilified for its trouble.

Everytime I see Christianity shown nicely in films. It's always with a cast of minorities. Why the trend?

What does it mean?

Thanks.

I doubt you mean it but that sounds really bad...

Only black guy in a Christian movie I can think of is Mr. T.

Yeah the Blue dude in Watchmen was quite conspicuous
I don't really care about male nudity in particular, I just see society evolving slowly (very slowly) and finally realizing that maybe nudity is not that great evil it makes it out to be. The final evolution will be sex ... or so I suppose.

Sorry Dingo.

Sorry for that impression...

First of all, Christian films aren’t mainstream fare. Anymore, it’s in the background or done by independents. Unless there’s a minority cast or a corrupt white person.

I find it troubling. Why the trend? I’m not the one making them? I simply see a trend Dingo? Am I exaggerating?

Think about... Everytime you see a faith picture... Every time... The cast (who practices it) is a minority. The Tyler Perry Pictures (Madea), Nothing Like The Holidays (2008) [Luis Guzman, John Leguizamo], This Christmas (2007) [Delroy Lindo, Regina King], the congregation in Benjamin Button.

...Or you'll have Robert Duvall in the Apostle (1997), Paul Dano in There Will Be Blood (2007), Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt (2008), Rutger Hauer as Cardinal Patrick in Sin City (2005). Today: Men of faith are portrayed as pedophiles, reprobates, or frauds.

Only the priests in Eastwood’s films (Million Dollar Baby [2004], Gran Torino [2008]) contradict this.

The trend is there. My question: What does it mean?

I prefer the old movies. They kiss. Then, the screen turns to black. What's wrong with that?

Imagination is better than seeing it. There's a saying, "Less is More."

I agree with it.

That’s not a threat it’s a guarantee.
A “threat” is when a drunken Tivo Dealer says he is going to file a Civil Action Complaint against a Blu-ray movie reviewer for comments made in public during a home theater conference………….and never follows through with it.

Keep in mind that it is a privilege, not a right, to post on this forum. It would be wise for anyone not to abuse that privilege.

Default Impact and Genre.

Which director had more impact on a particular genre? Hitchcock and suspense. Minnelli and musicals. Ford and Westerns. Welles and Dramas. Which person left a greater mark and a larger legacy? Griffith and period pieces? You tell me.

I prefer Westerns, so my pick would go to Ford. However, we all have different tastes.
