Default What would you do if Fox decided not to come back to Blu-ray?

Would you still be into Blu-Ray if you knew you would never ever see a Fox film or tv show?

I think Fox is still on board. Read this excerpt from all their Press Releases this week.

"A recognized global industry leader, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment LLC (TCFHE) is the worldwide marketing, sales and distribution company for all Fox film and television programming on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD) as well as acquisitions and original productions. "

Looks to me that they're still with us, plus Bill Hunt over at thedigitalbits.com swears that his rock solid contacts with Fox say that a big slate of Blu-Ray releases are on the way for 4Q, just not officially announced yet.

I've said it before, Fox have far more to lose by not releasing than by releasing and suffering a small amount of piracy.

New movies are only new for a short time, it wouldn't make business sense for them not to have their big hitting movies released on Blu-ray day and date with dvd.

Plus, if their fear is piracy, then why would they want to help HD DVD's cause by not releasing? The best thing they can do to combat piracy is to help Blu-ray win by releasing great movies.

This question sounds like one of those sad attempts by the HD DVD camp to spread FUD. What it, what if, what if... What if those poor chaps that bought-into that dead format hadn't wasted their money in the first place?

Oh darn...they have already done that...Oh well I guess HD-DVD doesn't have a chance in hell does it?

Not if it's supporters are obsessed with ideas like a cross between a horse and a zebra. Silly of me, HD DVD supporters are obsessed with a cross between a DVD and a cow pie.

I'm confident Fox will return, eventually. They're a buisness and i trust they are still intrested in making money.

No, it's just the Angry Blu-Fanboys hoping that Repetition/Perservance = Progress, despite the futility of Reason:

"Why isn't Fox releasing their disks?
"Uh, they're waiting for the BD+ security."
"I heard a conspiracy that Fox wants to get out of Blu disks, because they haven't released any."
"Uh, they're waiting for the BD+?"
"Could Fox be in league with Microsoft, and trying to destroy Blu, because they haven't released any since Night at the Museum?"
"Uh, Plus? Waiting? For the?"
"Sign my petition now to force Fox to release more movies on Blu!"
"Uh, I just French-kissed America Ferrera?"
"What?"
"...AHA, YOU WERE LISTENING!!"

Penton-man said in the insiders thread that there would be an official announcement from Fox coming soon (I think by early Sept).

Keep your fingers crossed.
