Pan's Labyrinth ? - Blu-ray Forum

I bought it a long time ago on HD DVD (hey it was dirt cheap fire sale and blu wasn't available)..

I really enjoyed the movie, that said it isn't a movie I want to watch often as it is very disturbing/bruatl.. yet very beautiful.. Can't really describe it better without spoiling it.

This movie is fantastic. Yes the film is in Spanish and if you don't mind reading subtitles this film is worth it. The visuals and stories are amazing and the directing is top notch.

I actualy prefer watching movies in the original language (I always watch anime in Japanese) with the sub titles, unless it's a movie from France, well not always I speak French Canadian, I sometime need the sub titles on French movies

+1 directing is great!

but it isnt my favorite Guillermo del Toro movie...

Blade 2 is!!!

even thou i like the 2 hellboys Blade 2 is clearly his best!

i know Guillermo del Toro directed it, so it has to be good, one of the best sci-fi/fantasy directors,i need to rent this movie!

The language adds and is an important role to the entire feel of this movie. This is why there is no dub. The subs are great and unless you suck at reading you will be fine.

Absolutely!

"Devil's Backbone" would look amazing on BD! And whatever happened to his first big movie "Cronos"?!? It's not even on DVD here in the U.S.!

Well, it was available on DVD in the US, but it's apparently OOP now. You can still find copies if you really look. But I could have sworn Del Toro said Cronos was being prepared for a blu-ray release. I'm too lazy to hunt down the news though.

I'd rent it first but the movie was outstanding. I bought it but have since sold it.... replay factor wasn't as great on this one.

Again though - highest rec on the movie itself.

And I'd agree with the post above - Devils Backbone and Orphanage are both steller.

Awesome movie, but be forewarned, I've seen it twice and each time I was literally sobbing like a baby at the end of it.
