I never make it to the end without erupting...I am losing it way before that.

I want to see this movie. But with no English dubbing I will wait.
If i wanted to read i would buy a book.
I find subtitles to be distracting as you're reading the words and not paying complete attention to the images.
I find it very distracting.

Absolutely! "Devil's Backbone" would look amazing on BD! And whatever happened to his first big movie "Cronos"?!? It's not even on DVD here in the U.S.!

I find them distracting for maybe the first 10 minutes or so. Then I forget I'm even reading them. Just like anything else, you get used to them. There are many fantastic movies out there only available with subtitles. And besides, even if subtitles are distracting, there's nothing more distracting than an awful dub.

Well, it was available on DVD in the US, but it's apparently OOP now. You can still find copies if you really look. But I could have sworn Del Toro said Cronos was being prepared for a blu-ray release. I'm too lazy to hunt down the news though.

Agreed. My wife and I love "Nightwatch" and "Daywatch", but I just can't stand to watch the English dub - even if they do use the proper Russian accents.

Missing out on this absolutely amazing film because you have to "read it" is the height of foolishness. And I used to feel that way, as well... thank God I got over it.

I'm sure you're right - he probably did say something about that. Unfortunately, it seems like he announces a new project everyday - so who knows when it would actually happen.

+1 it take me a good 10min to get used to it...there are so many good movies out there that you have to "read it",
or you could just learn the language that the movie is<=hard way

The words tell the story, not the picture. You are missing a lot of GREAT movies.

The language adds and is an important role to the entire feel of this movie. This is why there is no dub. The subs are great and unless you suck at reading you will be fine.

Other than the fact that Faun is the spanish equivalent of "Jar Jar Binks" it's a FANTASTIC movie..... and like others have said, the subs are both very concise, and slow (in the sense that it's not really a dialog driven piece)

Enjoy..... let us know what you think after watching it.

Wow! Never would have pegged those two to be in a sentence, and compared, to one another.

I have to disagree... I don't see how something like Jar-Jar could be compared to the Faun...

Besides their looks being totally different, the Faun does not have the annoying personality of Jar-Jar...

Unlees you're joking and I didn't get it?

Totally disagree. No annoying voice. Not comical. We cant be sure (at times) of the fauns motives.

What felt/seemed similar to you?
