These sequels to classic films have been pretty good and we're getting another one soon, Bad Boys for Life.

Saw it today. For the 3 recent Stephen King adaptations, I have to go:

Doctor Sleep > It Chapter 1 > It Chapter 2

I like all three but I do agree with this.

I just read about the comparison between book and movie and I'm pretty bummed that the scene in Concetta's hospital room with Danny, Abra, her parents and her doctor was not in the film. This scene sent chills up my spine when I read it and was a fantastic reveal.

By the way, I loved the book Doctor Sleep. Way more than The Shining.

Oh well, I'll watch it when the 4K comes out.

In response to the post above, I loved It, both chapters. I read the book and the director captured the spirit of the book and everything good about it.

11.22.63 mini series was awful compared to the book and I despised the ending.

Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me [both from the same book by the way] still remain, for me, the best adaptations of Stephen King's book I thought It is just a hair below those two.

I never loved The Shining book [I liked it but not a favorite] I enjoyed the movie and it's not a favorite either but it did for the most part stay close to the book. I know King hated the movie but compared to some of the other adaptations Kubrick's Shining is far superior to Pet Sematary, Cujo etc.

Thumbs up

The sequel to the Shining, Doctor Sleep, with Ewan McGregor, was a really good movie. 8/10. It was about these people in RVs, absorbing people's souls that could shine. They wanted his soul, and a few others. Really good story. I'd buy it on dvd. The last act, taking place in that iconic location, was so cool to revisit from the first film.

Only thing was, Rebecca as Rose, was good, but I was wishing for a more evil character, but that's not how King wrote the story. It's intention was that beauty can be evil. A valid theme, but it takes away the scare factor for me. Entertaining film.

Yeah, The Shining is probably the best Film based on a Stephen King Novel (despite the difference between the two media) . Doctor Sleep would be my second favorite, Shawshank redemption, then the original Pet sematary. Classic It, Cujo, Lawnmower Man, Thinner, and then the rest all in equal amounts of ranking

Top Gun was nothing more than two hours of propaganda for the Air Force. Never could understand it's appeal.

Beat out by the awful Midway. The theaters by me were only showing Dr. Sleep 5 times a day while showing Last Christmas and Midway 10-12.
