Yes, the pharmacist told Dylan that Dr. Edwards had gone missing nearly a year earlier and that he was now presumed dead. But it was never said that Norman killed him. In fact, nothing else was ever said about it. It's like they brought it up and then just forgot all about it, and the situation was never explained.

Then what do you think happened to Dr. Edwards? Professionals don't just "disappear" without good reason

What hole? He was arrested and went to jail. There was nothing left to wrap up. His whole escape, breaking into the jail to kidnap Norman, etc was ridiculous. There was nothing there that needed closure.

Highmore has a new series coming soon called "The Good Doctor", but I hope the guy isn't going to be typecast.

In the trailer, he uses the exact same American accent he used on Bates and still has the same mannerisms and everything that he had to where I kept seeing Norman Bates the whole time, almost to where I'm expecting Vera Farmiga to pop up as a hallucination lol.

I do hope the show does well though and he breaks typecast.

Hopefully the final episode of the series will end with Highmore in bed with Farmiga and the words "Hello, Mother."

lol.... fans on YouTube are saying this is Norman's "afterlife".... I dunno if I'd trust him with a scalpel myself lol

But at the same time, good for him for going straight into another series, even though it feels like he's still playing Norman in this trailer

I didn't see too much of Norman in that trailer. The show looks interesting. I'm not much for medical dramas anymore these days but I might check it out based on the strength of having Freddie Highmore.

I started a thread for Freddie's new show:

ABC's "The Good Doctor" (Fall 2017) - with "Bates Motel's" Freddie Highmore

Hope to see some of you there!

Was looking at some Emmy predictions and unfortunately zero people are predicting Highmore to be nominated. Five people are predicting Farmiga to be nominated for supporting actress, with two of them having her ranked at #1.

Even though it was her weakest season, would be awesome to see Farmiga win an Emmy for Norma Bates.

Nice to see all the love for this show. I'm loving everything about it. I feel lucky to have found this show to binge during a vacation break from work.

I'm three quarters of the way through season 4. Amazing how many familiar actors are showing up. I even love the show visually as I have a thing for dark woodwork and fireplaces. There is a lot of that in the show and everything just feels so cozy visually.

And I have never once gotten bored with it. It's just all around a good show. Enjoyable at every turn.

It does seem kind of odd though, that the original psycho takes place during a time before cell phones and laptop computers and this is a young Norman with computers and cell phones. "Shrugs" lol.

Have to say, makes me want to revisit the original movie after I finish the show, but doing a quick search I don't see it on Netflix for streaming.

I would have liked if it was set in the 1950's and been a "true" prequel that with Norman seeing Crane pull into the motel.

However, it it is a great show with terrific performances from everyone and the new elements like Dylan, Emma, Chick and Romero are excellent. I quickly got to like that. it wasn't a "true" prequel.

That or I remember thinking even in the modern setting it would be cool to have the series finale end on a rainy night, with Marion's car pulling up to the motel and Norman heading downstairs to greet her.

As it was, while I enjoyed the final season and
[Show spoiler]the way it sort of did its own adaptation of Psycho
, I felt rather disappointed by the series finale. I recall thinking it could have ended much stronger than it did.
