Lol, it was a big adventure. It took about 2 hours to hang the thing. Most all of that time was dealing with the crappy drill bits that said they DID drill through concrete/brick. Yet, they kept puking out. They would drill fine for a little bit, but then stop and just turn and turn but not dig. I think I needed a drill that hammered and drilled at the same time. Oh well. Other than that, it was pretty simple to setup.

I also came up with some sweet ideas to hide the wires, but none of them panned out or would have been too time consuming. I hate the use of track, but in this case, I found some that was very low profile and blended damn well before painting. My only other alternative was to cout out about 2" of the brick face to make a channel for the wires and put back brick covers on top. This would have taken forever and probably comprised the safety of the fireplace.

I'm done with it now, but still have to do another few coats of the fireplace.

The viewing height is not bad at all. I actually never paid attention to it until you just said something. Lol. It works for the room nicely.
