$69.99 divided by the average Disney 4K disc price of $34.99 = 2 4K discs

So for the price of 2 4K or BD discs, you get access to over 100 movies. Many available for the first time in HD or 4K.

Yeah, Disney really is greedy with this service.
and multiply that by infinity ; it will be worth your whole entire BR discography and more, the more you put money into that streaming service.

What?!

Both Disney brothers are dead: Walt and Roy. The one making decisions are the board members and Bob Iger.

I can bring up homepage on phone app, if I select account it says "Unable to connect to Disney+ There seems to be an issue connecting to the Disney+ service. Please try again if this issue persists". If I select legal, it says "Network Error"

I can get to the start free trial/login homepage via chrome on phone and PC but as soon as I click "login" it goes to an endless spinning circle.

I am unable to access Live Chat have been on hold for 2+ hours with phone support. I have deleted and re-downloaded apps as well as power-cycled my network. I thought it might be an isolated issue with my account but the fact that I can't even get to a login screen from a non-logged access point seems like the whole site is screwed yet other people have access?!?!
I can't get the app to work on my LG C7 after deleting and reinstalling many, many times (btw thanks go to a fellow member for informing me how to do that!). I get the free trial/login screen but cannot click on anything! The tv is up to date, and I have tried unplugging it as well. At least I was able to get the app and have it work on my PS4 (albeit with frustrating hiccups now and then during streaming). I'm going to continue deleting/reinstalling now and then on my LG C7. At some point in the near future when things settle down a bit, I will try the Disney+ and/or LG support because that's where I want the access.

It's taken four decades & billions of dollars of technology for me to be able to type this: I started my Saturday morning watching a live action Star Wars series. On my phone.

If you listen close, you can hear my inner ten year old going "squeeeeeeeeee"...

Nevermind, I thought he was alive; but what I said stands true; Disney has been re-releasing classics for decades now and have fully made return on investment on all of their classics if not more; so releasing tv series like Hercules or Winnie the pooh on blu-ray does not hurt even if only as a DMC exclusive, it will be fair for people like me that dislike to put their money into in an endless pot of money making machine which is the streaming services. I do not subscribe to Netflix or any other service because the fact is they need your money and what is offered is being hooked-up to a service that will keep you coming back for more instead of a single transaction process.

In any retail situation, no one is making you buy anything.

I still can't connect when off WiFi. Thank you though. Did all your accessibility return when you went back to wifi?

My point is why remaster a series and not put it on blu-ray to watch it shine; like all the remastering process is deluded to 720p picture for most people and wasted instead of putting it on proper media like blu-ray that will show it at full potential; that's my point beyond the fact that they want your money.

It didnt work at all on wifi on Wednesday, and would only work on cellular data. Only way I could get it to work on my Roku was via tethering. Then Thursday night, it came back to life on wifi. Lot of people with similar complaints on reddit.

Is it greed or smart business strategy?

Also, even if Disney were to physically release discs of their entire television catalog chances are they'd be DVD only. Cheaper to produce than Blu-ray. And who's to say that the market is even there? The discs would be sitting on shelves collecting dust.

People want instant access and that's why hundreds of TV shows available through Disney+ is the best choice to make.

You're paying $70 a year and have access to 7,500 TV series episodes.

Can't go wrong with that.
