Is this a dual title in the one release, or two separate releases?

From all I've read everything has indicated you will not be able to buy one without the other. |

Previously both releases were available separately on DVD and in a Box set with an extra disc. I'm going to guess that Fantasia will be released as a Platinum Edition 3 disc set, just like Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty. Then Fantasia 2000 will be released separately as a 3-disc set Blu Film+ Blu Features + DVD copy. Disney has already stated that all the Platinum titles would contain a DVD copy with the 2-disc Blu-ray sets. Disney will also probably bundle the release or possibly release a box set that features special packaging/a book/film cell and a 7th disc with Digital Copies of both films. Probably something to do with Mickey's sorcerer's apprentice hat. But this is all conjecture...so take it as rumor. I have been pretty good at guessing what Disney will do before! |

There's no way there won't be a box set.
I, of course, dream of the day I can make my own mix of Fantasia and Fantasia/2000, like programming tracks on a CD. And I'm sure it won't happen, but the 1982 version of Fantasia would be an incredible bonus feature. |

I hope both movies will be available separately with all bonus features. I hate boxsets, they defeat the fact that different movies exist as different entities that do not come out at the same time. Plus, if a new one ever comes out, it will just look plain wrong being excluded from the earlier set!
Anyway, I certainly can't wait, especially for the first installment, but the second one's good too. (especially the mother nature segment for its art and the flamingo segment for its humor; anyone else found nothing good about the Donald segment though?) Before I got to rewatch Pinocchio, this was the Disney movie that thought me the brilliance of Walt's era animation, and that got me very excited when it was announced. Turns out I much preferred Pinocchio, so I'm glad I didn't have to wait an extra year for that one. ![]() |

But if the two movie boxes are the exact same as the individual copies just shoved into a box, I'll forgive them. I'll just put away the bonus disc and the box somewhere else. |

The last time they came to market, they came as Fantasia (single disc) w/Claire De Lune, Fantasia 2000 (single disc) w/Toot Whistle Plunk & Boom, and The Fantasia Anthology (both films, plus a third with extensive track-by-track supplements, plus Claire De Lune and recreations of never-produced Fantasia segments, the highlight of which was "Swan of Tuonela", an evocation of a Swan taking the souls of the dead into the afterlife.
I expect you're going to get a tricked out stand-alone Blu-Ray for Fantasia, a tricked out stand-alone for F2K, and then a box set that has the features arranged to accomodate a bonus disc (or discs). |

I was surfing Wiki and stumbled across Fantasia, one way or another. And for those that feel very skeptical about my thread, and I wont say who! You know who you guys are, here is a little something I found, and I quote:
"This restored roadshow version of Fantasia was first released on DVD in 2000, and is the only version of the film to appear in that format. Its sequel Fantasia 2000 soon followed, but both were removed from circulation in late 2004. The two Fantasia films will be re-released as Platinum Editions on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 2, 2010. " Enjoy!!!!! ![]() link |

Disney announced these titles for release in a press release last year... http://www.ultimatedisney.com/platin...-20091011.html According to this announcement...the films will be released seperately, though they might be bundled together. They also announced Beauty and the Beast for Fall 2010 (and later have specifically stated October 2010.) The official month (March has been given by Disney, but no actual date has been officially announced. However, it is typically around the 1st of March, give or take a week, so your date shouldn't be to far off. One week earlier or one week later at the most. Thanks for getting the thread started 88! |

soundtrack being included on the blu-ray, but have not gotten a response yet. Anyone who would want this I would strongly recommend write Disney a letter ( address below). That track would be awesome in 7.1 LOSSLESS!! ![]() Lastly, I hope for Fantasia that Disney ( I hope someone from the House of Mouse is reading this!) will do the excellent frame by frame clean-up job that was done for both Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio! I thought they were both awesome, and Fantasia, my favorite Disney film of all time, deserves no less!!! And I'll take every release trailer from the film from 1940-1990 as a bonus as well! ![]() Disney's address: Bob Iger CEO/President The Walt Disney Company 500 S.
