Well there's your problem. That's like saying the cover for Poltergeist doesn't look good because it's just a kid looking at a TV set. When you know the context then it works.
Those dolls actually are in the movie. But there isn't a girl with her hair tied in a noose.

I thought they make this new art for people that haven't seen the movies though? Sure as hell isn't getting me to check it out.

Why aren't Day the World Ended and How to Make a Monster listed on the Shout website yet?

I'm with you. I applaud the attempt at something different but the Barbie Doll cover just doesn't work for me. The pony tail noose is fairly iconic and instantly catches the eye and makes the viewer want to learn more. This new Barbie Doll cover appears fairly cheap by comparison and could easily be mistaken for any other number of genres.

They haven't officially been announced. I wouldn't be surprised to see them announced tomorrow.

When I was at 20% off there were some great deals to be had (especially considering the bonus coupons I would’ve gotten). I’m still recovering from VS and Severin’s Black Friday sales, so I had to settle for the 15% off tier....

...Although, now that I look at it, I think there was a glitch somehow. My subtotal before discount was only about $68 but I still made out with the 15% off!

From the email they sent out:

This is it, make someone happy! Shout! Factory is offering several ways to save on nearly everything* on the site! Fantastic discounts will help you make Shout! part of your holiday season. Place orders early for pre-Christmas delivery.

Get 10% off and free shipping (U.S. only) when you spend $50 or more

Get 15% off and free shipping (U.S. only) when you spend $80 or more

Get 20% off at $125 and two $10 coupons (coupons are not combinable with other offers, are transferrable, will be delivered by email upon shipment confirmation and expire Feb 29, 2020)

Just add a product to your cart and see the discounted price on the checkout page.

Hurry and save now – The sale ends Tuesday 12/10 at 11:59 p.m. PT!
Thanks for info. I was checking website for a sale but they don’t advertise to the general public. I thought I was on email list. I guess have to get on emaillist again

It is weird, though, that they weren't announced when all the other March titles were announced. I wouldn't be surprised if these are titles that were scheduled for March, but plans changed and the listings went up in error.

That is of course very likely as well. I still remember a time when each Friday the 13th was a special occasion which bore some new announcements though and so whenever titles like this sneak their way out I can't help but think that they were being saved for just such an occasion.

On a related note: It appears that How to Make a Monster was previously licensed by Shudder for streaming but now is with Shout Factory which all but confirms that this will see a release at some point. When being the obvious question now.

It also has an ending you'll never forget.
I saw this only at the theater, and I haven't forgotten the ending. I think I saw Critters the same day.

Maybe Shout will take advantage of this date and announce Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X already. :P

I remember a couple of years back, there were mentions from Scream Factory of a Stegman (Class of 1984) action figurine. Was it all talk only or was one made but in very limited quantities?

Edited to add : I remember there was a picture of it floating around but cant find it anymore :/

How To Make a Monster was announced... isn't this the third film in a series? With I Was a Teenage Werewolf and I Was a Teenage Frankenstein being the first two? Hopefully they can release those as well.

Sort of, but I Was a Teenage Werewolf and I Was a Teenage Frankenstein are owned by Susan Hart and How To Make a Monster isn't. Ms. Hart is notorious for having a highly inflated opinion on what her films are worth.

I guess we'll find out in the coming months whether there's any substance to this rumour. If there is, I suspect Scream will be the label in question.

After reading that thread, and especially considering the HTMAM announcement, I feel like there’s a very good chance they’re coming.

It would make sense to release all three films, as they form a trilogy of sorts, with "How to Make a Monster" being the final film of the trilogy.

I was wondering the exact same thing. It seems like an oversight to me. A crazy one, but an oversight nevertheless. It drives me nuts
