That was more 20th Century Fox prior to the Lucasfilm Acquisition in 2012. Disney had nothing to do with those.

Any Marvel film prior to the Avengers on regular blu weren't done by them, they just slapped their disc styling on it and called it a day when they re-released them. Disney re-released the Entire Star Wars Catalogue individually recently and they're still the 2011 masters. Unless they decide to make Remastered blu rays exclusive to this new set they announced.

Yes.

From Wookieepedia:

Attack of the Clones

During the chase on Coruscant, when Anakin and Obi-Wan pass through the power couplings, several shots are rearranged.

During Anakin's nightmare scene, a voiceover of his mother Shmi is added.

After Yoda saves Obi-Wan and Anakin from Dooku's falling pillar, the reaction shots of Yoda and then Anakin and Obi-Wan are moved to before the shots of Dooku escaping on his ship and Padmé and the clonetroopers arriving and firing at him. This edit creates an irregularity in the background music.

Revenge of the Sith

The scene in which Obi-Wan encounters General Grievous on Utapau and the Clone Army arrives is altered, adding dialogue from the troopers as they land on the platform.

The Kashyyyk headquarters rooftop was rendered to appear more significantly aged by adding moss and rust.

The transition from Padmé's ship to Vader's hand on Mustafar is changed from a straight cut back to a wipe, restoring the original theatrical release.

I guess it depends on how badly they want Maclunkey for a new BD.

$30 is not pricey for a 4K disc and a Blu-ray disc. Or two Blu-ray discs in some cases. We are owed cheap prices on these. If we want to keep the option of physical media then we need pony up the cash.

The singles will go on sale eventually. And by eventually I mean as little as two months, as in the most recent example.

These box sets have become largely pointless. They exist to make money off of day1 people. Otherwise you can simply buy the individual movies that you want, and for much cheaper.
Most of those steelbooks came out in April/August and were not on sale until the Christmas holidays. Which you cannot count since EVERYTHiNG is on sale. Again, $30 is not expensive. No more than that $!0 dollar cup of coffee people buy on a daily/weekly basis.

$30 is expensive for a movie. Is it because I say so; that's my perception.

What was your point again? That $250 for this set is not expensive because you say that $30 is not expensive? What are you even talking about.

$30 is a great price for a movie disc you watched 20 times and $10 is an expensive price for s movie disc you watched just once or never got around to watching it.

I pre-ordered in case of exclusive content. It’s Star Wars, so very likely will sell out quickly and be prohibitively expensive on eBay. But if the details come out that it’s nothing special, I’d prefer a more shelf-friendly package and will cancel my order.

So the general consensus is that the Disney+ transfers look better than the old 2011 Blus, and not just in terms of the 4K/HDR uptick?

Or is it a win some/lose some kind of situation?

Yup they all look better than the BD's from what I've seen.

Ugh

I wonder if there are any efforts to make unofficial restored versions of these prequels like have been done with the Original Trilogy...

I have Ep 1 theatrical on JP LD and US VHS, Eps 2 & 3 on DVD (I believe 2 even had a change for the first home edition), and the OT on the THX 'Faces' LDs (though I have heard that the earlier editions had better PQ but were more likely to have rot). Then the Disney ones on UK 3D editions.

Considering that more people are liking the prequels these days, I could see it happening eventually.

I'd be majorly down for a restoration of the theatrical cut of TPM.

Also AOTC is unaltered on the DVD. It's the exact same cut that was used for the original digital theatrical prints.

There was also a 35mm print as well which does have a couple of differences.

There is some kind of "Project 4K99" going on, but I don't know if it's by any of the same team who did the ones for the OT. I'd personally prefer the original '99 cut that looks like a film print over the current DNR'd extended version.

I think Episode II on DVD was a straight port of the digital theatrical version, but I'm not 100% on that-- I only saw the film-print version of the movie theatrically.

Even if disney releases the previous 6 films (the REAL skywalker saga) I bet the audio will suck, so the blurays will have the better audio for sure.

I'm pretty sure Episode II on DVD did have a few minor tweaks from either theatrical version. Even Episode III didn't make it to DVD totally unaltered, though the change to that one is so minor I almost wonder if it was an accident considering it reverted back to the way it was for the Blu-ray.

EDIT: Perhaps I was mistaken. I could have sworn at one point that it was confirmed there were differences on the AOTC DVD even from the digital film projections, but it must have just been random speculation at one point that has since been debunked. I was 14 when I saw this, I'm pretty sure both times Digital, and the first showing was such a snooze fest at points that I remember struggling to even stay awake.
