Yeah I never understand the UOT crowd. George Lucas was limited by technology when making the movies. If he wants to go back and make changes, he has every right to. Even Tolkien had to go back and change small sections of The Hobbit after The Lord of the Rings was finished. I don't see people clamoring for the original Hobbit versions.

What’s on D+ is the closest representation of the original color grading of the OT. Quote:

There is 100% DNR and edge enhancement throughout sections of all of the original films. This is not only reported by me, but by others as well. I don’t know how it compares to prior blu-ray releases; But by UHD standards, they do not look great. Average is pretty much the best these films’ masters look like on UHD for Disney+ |

Always hilarious when someone tries to discredit what you’re saying, even though what you’re saying is right.
If Disney used the masters that are on their streaming service, then these UHDs will receive the same criticisms that stuff like Thor and IM1 received. There’s also less of an HDR application compared to those films. |

These transfers of the prequels, and the special editions versions, are going to make for an even greater cluster f**k of a commercial situation. Which is going to further entrench a RESISTANCE movement towards Disneys Star Wars, because of Lucas entrenched attitude.
As if it wasn't already inevitable enough that the hardcore fan base will eventually have a UHD project for the theatricals with Dolby Vision. Disney are going to scramble all squads of lawyers when that hits the internet. |

I thought the D+ 4k versions looked great...certainly well worth upgrading to.
