All that said, I'd still like to see these masters encoded to disc and not be put at the mercy of streaming compression, I think the ripped 4K streams are all of ~15GB in size and that's no gonna do your grain (or what's left of it once Lowry have been at it) any good. It may have even been managed further to make it more streaming-friendly, though that's me just clutching at straws at this point. So I've decided not to go chasing these down on the interwebs, I want to see them on disc first.

I think there will be individual releases since this is just a Best Buy exclusive.

To be honest, I'm surprised it hadn't happened already. Once Disney pushed out the rest of the Marvel films that weren't already on UHD, as well as the rest of the Pixar films (including the five that are scheduled for March), I figured that they'd get going with the SW films. I had expected -- at the very least -- UHD releases of The Force Awakens and Rogue One by the time of the theatrical release of The Rise of Skywalker, and was surprised when they weren't scheduled. And then the first six when The Rise of Skywalker came out on disc.

Even if the "Standard" Packaging of sorts for this comes out, there's no guarantee the bonus discs will be included, Disney has a habit of omitting them too on some reissues.

This September, Disney reissued all of the previous films -- including the two one-offs -- each with only a single BD (plus a digital code). No extras discs in any of them.

Reissues of the Stand Alone Iron Man 1 and 2 blus, which removed the Bonus Discs for those I might add.

I feel like I have no allies, because I think the plot and "diversity" and whatnot are fine, but I think the dialogue writing and pacing are terrible. That makes me an enemy of both the haters and the lovers. Reminds me of today's political climate honestly. Everything is black or white.

I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who hates the Disney trilogy but appreciates the prequels.

FYI: The diffusion used by DP Gil Taylor softened the hell out of a lot of those 'Tatooine' exteriors, not helped by some inclement weather when they were shooting the stuff with the droids which turned it into a "grey mess" in his own words, and the filtering on top only made it look even smudgier. (His method of diffusion was literally stretching a stocking over the lens!)

Now I ain't saying that it's the same thing as smeary Lowry processing as it's not, BUT it means that the desert exteriors are already up against it in terms of lacking crispness and detail and when they get Lowryfied then they're only gonna look even more funky.

I did take a look at 4K77 and 4K83 after my DNR review and I noticed the diffuse look of the Tatooine stuff. Can't say they've replicated that look for the remaster. They've definitely tried to flatten it out and sharpen it up.
