I have a love hate relationship with Scalpers. Yea it sucks that you have to pay more for the movies you want to see but that being said they can show companies that there is a market for movies that they might not realize is there. Like Popcorn or Evil Ed which we’re close to 100 dollars each on DVD before their respective releases. I also am personally only in my 20s and will be the first to admit that I learn about new movies I have never heard of all the time. Scalpers despite their limiting the stock to people that might buy it from the company it was initially available if I don’t hear about a movie til 3 years after some limited edition of it is available I might not have a chance at all to purchase it. Scalpers make that product available because they might not actually want it to begin with. Yea paying more sucks but no one can know everything about films and without a secondary market I couldn’t buy a ton of films I might love.

Gosh I hope Mean Streets doesn't last for too long being out of print, as this was one where I snoozed and losed. But I don't quite see WB letting this sit unavailable for an extended period.

sorry but i just am reading a bunch of sour grapes in your statements. for starters you assume that that person bought 2 for resale purposes. do you know this for a fact? look buying and selling is a "real" job for many and is just part of the game. will i pay stupid prices for things i missed out on? NO. concert and sporting event tickets tht are never offered to the public and are instead sold to ticket brokers is indeed not fair. someone buying something that was offered to the public isn't the same. you had your chance to. i agree that at times it isn't fair or that it sucks but i won't go on a tirade about it.

I was just going by a few posts ago in this thread. I hadn't looked for myself until now, and I'm not spotting it.

Thanks! I'm remembering why I didn't collect it yet. The French blu might be better extra-features-wise, but I'm not region free yet. Not quite in a panic or rush to buy this immediately, but I was almost tempted.

AFFanAttic up to you of course, m-r allows you to make the best choices. The sooner you make the leap the more value and benefit you get.

The truth is that I shouldn't be looking at this thread when I'm trying to lay off movie purchases for the moment. (While also reminding myself of multi-region at the same time I discover Arrow's upcoming UK Jodorowsky box set. The time I go multi-region is when I'll get probably 20 new Arrow titles.)

There were at least 40 of them this way. I could have bought them all and re-sold them but I picked up 12 that seemed interesting and left the rest for other hunters.

I'm sure some of you will chastise me for not bringing to the store's attention, but it's not my fault an FYE mislabeled the discs, $10 is not unreasonable for a used blu, and I paid what they asked.
It doesn't happen all that often, but local used stores sometimes have Criterion blus for like $5-8. They're usually a minimum of $15 or so and often closer to around $20. So when they're heavily discounted it's usually pretty easy to consider a blind buy.

i'm upset but not too upset about the scalpers re; evil town.
i know reselling is a side hustle for a lot of people - but it's ultimately up to the individual whether or not they'd want to spend a crazy amount of money on something.

And keep in mind WB messed up the opening intro on their BLU

So if Criterion has Mean Streets this should be corrected back to the original theatrical opening.

What happened with the intro to the Warner release?
