I have an 800 u and use 24p all the time.I don't have any flicker issues at all.I am running it through a BD30 connected to a Panasonic SA-BX500 receiver.A matched system just the way Panasonic most likely calibrated the 24pmode.

The V-10 and Z-1 series have 96Hz. I don't know what you're reading that would cause such confusion.

The V-Series and Z-Series will use 96Hz, or 4:4 pulldown.

I went to see The Dark Knight in IMAX and I noticed the exact same flicker in the scenes in the basement with the ceiling of floodlighting. Of course I wouldn't call it "horrendous" because I'm aware of what cinema is supposed to look like.

I installed a Sony LCD for a buddy of mine about a year ago. ( I forget the model, but it supported 24p )

I noticed what some people may call flicker, but I agree with dobyblue...kinda what it supposed to look like.

However what people are experiencing on Pannys @ 24p/48Hz may actually be brutal as I've never tested it on the PZ8 models.
