That said, it is definitely a case of diminishing returns, and if we never see Gemini Man in 120fps again, it won't be too bad. I'd still prefer that future HFR movies were done in 120fps, though, as there is certainly a noticeable difference, even if it's much smaller than the difference between 24fps and 60fps. |

24fps is caveman stuff at this point. We want 8K. We want HDR. We want WCG up the wazhoo. But when it comes to motion we rather stay back by 100 years!

For what it's worth, I liked the 3D, but I'm just as happy with 2D. |

How does Billy Lynn's look with motion interpolation at 120 fps? Is there any sign of judder? Is the difference between native 60 fps and interpolated 120 fps very noticiable?

Kinda looking forward to my first 60fps experience. I used to hate the idea, but recently I upgraded my gaming monitor to a 144hz model and playing games at 144fps has been pretty revelatory. Now 60fps feels super choppy, let alone 30 or 24. I know games aren't movies, but I dunno... it has me mildly interested, if nothing else.

Hopefully you can make it through the movie, though. Much easier said than done. |

No motion artefacts when cranking motion interpolation on 60fps source. Unlike with 24fps sources where motion interpolation even at minimum level will create all kind of motion artefacts and anomalies

After seeing this, I agree. As I started watching, I didn't realize it was 60fps, I thought I had the motion settings set way too high on my TV (they're usually off). Once I realized the movie was SUPPOSED to look like that, it really cheapened the experience because it reminded me of a soap opera or a cheesy made-for-tv movie. CGI backgrounds stand out like sore thumbs, so much more noticeable than at 24fps that it just makes the whole feel of the movie...well...cheap. Technically, the overall LOOK of it is jaw-dropping, but I think we are so conditioned to seeing movies at 24fps that seeing a presentation like this can affect perception of what we're supposed to be seeing. To me, this presentation affected the acting the most. For some reason it made the actors seem less credible and competent, almost amateurish. I need to see it at 24fps which I'm sure will give it a more "realistic" feel as far as the feel of a standard movie is concerned. But for now, for me, HFR seems like it will distract from the actual enjoyment of the movie rather than enhance it.
