Honey, not everybody worships the MCU. Some people like their Marvel films to feel somewhat idiosyncratic and filmmaker-driven.

Who here does worship the MCU?

You guys sure act like it sometimes, though. Like for example, what happened in the Thor: Love and Thunder thread the other day. Certain people were talk trashing other comic book movies and I'm like, I thought this was a Thor thread? Not comic book fans complaining about other comic book properties. Oh, but how dare I. I didn't even say anything bad about Marvel that time.

Why not? How many characters story arcs are complete? IM & Cap. How many will finish up within the next couple of years? Black Widow. GOTG3. Thor: Love & Thunder

How many series are left after Phase 1 - 3? Another 2 Black Panther, another 2 Doctor Strange, 1 more Spider-Man, 1 more Ant-Man?

Then you have the new series so far, Eternals and Shang Chi?

There's plenty of room for X-Men and FF. Stories will shift.

Edit: And who knows maybe an X series/character will appear on Disney+.

All those upcoming MCU movies are solo movies, though. Well, except maybe for Eternals and GOTG3. But X-Men is still much more bigger than all those other teams. You said it yourself. They are an Avengers-scale team. I'm just afraid X-Men will be scaled down when their side of the Marvel universe is just as big as The Avengers, if not bigger.

I really don't know where you're getting this fear. The X-Men are going to be treated like they deserve.

All of the X-Men, not just Wolverine and Mystique.

I said X-Men were bigger than JL or Avengers in the 90s in the comic world. Definitely not post 2012 in terms of cinema. The Avengers have been able to start off or spin off other characters. I'm not exactly sure X-Men can do that since even in the comics, very few get a regular series spin off.

While I agree that the X-Men universe has quite a big universe, they seem stronger as a team/group.

Mutant Containment Unit

But really your worries about the MCU being too Avengers-centric are unwarranted.

They focused so much on the Avengers because that's all they had to work with at the time. Now that they have more of their property back there's no reason to think they won't treat them the same way. I can't wait to have a real and proper Cyclops.

I thought we were mainly talking about in terms of scope and material?

In terms of material, X-Men does have a lot, however even in the comics, it's almost usually centered around the X-Men team titles.

The Avengers grew from 6 members to 8 in AOU and then if you wanted to count them as honorary members what 17-18 members by Endgame? That's still a lot of build build up across 21 movies and 10 years.

If that is what you want for the X-Men, maybe that's possible, but I do think they should start off with a strong 4-6 person team like with Guardians and Avengers and go from there.

I thought some of the Professor Xavier and Magneto stuff was incredible, particularly in First Class and Days of Future Past. The Nazi hunting bit in First Class was better than anything in the MCU (look at the "Frankenstein's Monster" scene).

So it is, but it isn't. And it might be, unless it ain't. But it definitely, absolutely will may have been. Maybe.
