I have my Oppo connected direct to my B6 and I didn't have any issues with this disc.

What, it plays in DV in 4K60? For reals?

Yep. I kept checking to make sure it was DV. It definitely wasn't playing at 24 fps either.

The frame rate won't ever change. So it wasn't just 1080p60? Cool. We've been told that 2016 LG OLEDs won't actually do DV @ 4K60. What is the OPPO set to for DV out of Auto, Player-led and TV-led?

If it was 1080p then it was difficult to tell unless the Oppo was upscaling that well. I'll have to look at my player settings but I think I have everything set to auto.

What does the output information screen on the OPPO say? Not the info at the top which is the source, the info at the bottom which is the actual output.

That Youtube clip disgusted me in a way, to be dramatic, but just ordered this anyway (payday baby!). Let's hope I get used to it after a while and end up enjoying it, but hope level is at 10%.

I watched the first 40 minutes on disc and then on streaming at 24fps and the streaming is so much better IMO.

I think an underrated aspect of the way the movie is shot is how subtle the use of HFR is. It really stands out in action scenes and panning shots, obviously, but otherwise, there's a lot of pretty normal/borderline uninteresting shots and setups that aren't IN YOUR FACE with the gimmick (maybe that comes from the 3D).

I'd personally like to see a bit more experimentation with this tech, like how everyone went nuts when high-quality digital cameras hit the scene. Soderbergh trudging up mountains with his REDs and Fincher attaching them to rowing boats and whatnot. Billy Lynn and Gemini Man still feel a bit like cinematic demos.

I don't know if it's the HDR to blame but some of the brightness/contrast is a bit extreme for my taste

The blu and streaming version coming with it was definitely a factor.

It will be 1080p60 DV. That is what my Fire TV cube 2 does. Netflix and Disney send everything as 4K60 into that box. When it's DV, the box sends it as 1080p60 DV to my tv. That's how it works on my E6. You really cant tell the difference since the upscaling is quite good on my E6.

Sorry for the newbie question, but I am new to the whole HFR thing. I understand the basics of the tech and everything, but I'm still on the fence of if I like it or not. All i have watch that was shot this way has been nature docs. I'd like to checkout Gemini Man or Billy Lynns, but not sure if it would be worth the price to purchase the disk.
Would the Vudu 4K stream show 60FPS or does it only do 24fps?

Setting the inputs on my TV to 'enhanced' did the trick. Thanks again! Also just wanna say that the visuals in this movie are amazing. I know a lot of people in this forum are thrown off by HFR but watching some of the scenes in 4k 60fps DV is truly spectacular.
