I'm hoping CC will do a François Truffaut collection of all his films (much like they did with Bergman), I'd also like a Jean-Pierre Jeunet boxset. I'd also like CC to release Jaco Van Dormael's Toto the Hero (1991), Frank Perry's Last Summer (1969) & Richard Brooks's Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977)

Wow I hardly ever log in but I saw your post about Last Summer and Toto and I 100% agree. Amazing under seen movies. Add Leolo, Serie Noire and Olivier Olivier and I will die a happy man.

Watched Harlan County USA for the first time on the channel. What a great film. Would love to get a bluray.

Is her other Oscar winning doc American Dream worth a blind buy? There’s a DVD on amazon for $19.99 from Lionsgate even though it appears to be but cropped. Can’t seem to find another way to see it

When "HEAT" in 4K UHD HDR is released I'll be "PUMPED".

The following was posted recently by Bill Georgaris on his theyshootpictures.com website:

The 21ST CENTURY'S MOST ACCLAIMED FILMS 2020 edition is scheduled to be published before the end of February. Plenty of end-of-decade lists will be incorporated, causing a major shake-up. Expect to see films from 2010-2018 (in particular) emphatically improve their standings.

I'll bet that most of the films produced by Criterion and released theatrically in the years 2010-2018 will be on that list.

So I'm thinking of picking up the DVD of Red Beard. Once I do, I know that Criterion will then announce a Blu-ray sourced from the negative, most likely. Should I wait? They've put out all of their Kurosawa's they have the rights to, I think, at this point. Not sure what the hold up is on this one.

Great film. It's my most wanted Kurosawa upgrade that I've been patiently waiting for. I'd say go for it, the DVD is worthy in any collection.

I bought the DVD years ago despite fearing the exact same thing. Still no Blu-ray from Criterion. Go buy the DVD and enjoy.

You could always just rent it, or sign up for a Criterion Channel trial instead of buying a DVD for $15+ that may outdated within a year.

Serie Noire would be a great title for Criterion to release.

So 2019 might be the year I buy the most new titles from Criterion. Come and See, Bamboozled, The Irishman, Marriage Story, the Great Escape, and hopefully a few other great titles.

I just wish Criterion upgraded more of their DVD titles. Been waiting for what seem like forever for The Human Condition Trilogy, Drunken Angel, Under the Volcano, the Hit, Youth of the Beast and so many more.

With them releasing so many more "bigger" titles, I always worry about other titles that might be overlooked or simply regulated to the Criterion channel.

I may just do that when I want to watch it again. It's my favorite Kurosawa and I owned the Criterion DVD years ago, but sold it figuring it would get a release eventually, but it hasn't yet. Is the Criterion stream HD?

Some content is and some isn't. But most of the titles that have been released in HD are HD on CC.

With the recent announcement of Netflix films being released by Criterion, I really hope we'll eventually see releases of I Lost My Body and Klaus. Both won big at the Annies and are nominated for best animated feature at the Oscars. Plus, we really need more animated films in the CC.
