Default OFFICIAL Michael Bay friggin' ROCKS thread!

Here's your thread. We all want it. Just go off on how much Michael Bay ROCKS for the comments he made regarding Paramount's ugly move. Needless to say, I encourage you all to clear the shelves of Pearl Harbour on Blu-ray today, as I know many of you surely will.

I am also changing my Avatar today, to none other than Michael Bay!

I think I'll go out today, and pick up Pearl Harbor (among other Blu-Ray Discs). Are there any other Bay flicks that are out on Blu? I've gotta show my support. Thank you Mr. Bay.

I really hope Michael Bay's comments make it into mainstream media... Would be even better if his and Spielberg's views on this were both 'pushed' into the media by their PR people.

It's time for Paramount to see how many bridges they just burned in Hollywood by selling out not just themselves, but all the directors, artists and other talent who trusted them to make reasonable distribution decisions.

Totally amazing.

So, how much did p!ssing off Michael Bay just cost them?

Shareholders? Was that $150 million one time bribe worth it? You've made how much this year on Transformers?

Gary

P.S. He has only posted a forum message 23 times in 2.5 years, so he really is PISSED. (I sure hope it isn't fake)

p.s. do we know for a fact that that was really Michael Bay who said that?

i ask because if its an 18 month contract (expires around March, 2009) and Transformers 2's theatrical release would be summer 2009, then what's the hold-up? yeah, yeah, yeah...its reactionary. He's as pissed as we are. Makes sense. But still...if he was to go through with it, we'd be okay.

Since it's officially in the press that Paramount took a 150 million dollar bribe despite months and months of Blu-Ray kicking HD-DVD's ass sales figures...I hope Micheal Bay is just the beginning of some serious tumult and backlash in Hollywood.

I hope Bay leads an outright revolt. It's going to take some serious backlash to fight against this artificial and desperate prolonging of this format war. If people really want it to end ASAP and have the best format win...then serious action needs to be taken now.

Paramount talking about "we wanted to jumpstart something" is a load of crap. If they really had wanted to do that then, if anything, they would have gone full Blu and essentially ended the format war in time for Christmas.

Paramount's suits that made this decision are a bunch of lying *****s. It's that simple.

i'am pretty sure he said that cause if some1 would've hacked on his account on his website and said no transformers 2 for me he must've replied immedeately in the press of it being false and also his name was taken down from IMDb as the director of T2 and its blank now

Mr. Bay scores points with me. Well his next project, "2012" looks to be distributed by Warner Bros (IMDB). Think Warner will go exclusive?

I've always been a fan of Michael Bay's movies. Last night I just order The Island on Blu-ray from sendit.com with shipping it was just under 20 pounds. I was going to wait until it was released it the US, but paramount made my decision a lot easier.

My thoughts:

The decision by michael bay to now no longer direct and produce transformer 2 was an EXCELLENT strategy.

Although as of right now, i am really bummed about no transformers sequel - or trilogy as a trilogy was already confirmed by him during a press conference, no longer directing a sequel will now light the pants of all those executives.

These guys failed to realize that he directed and made this HUGE blockbuster for paramount. Currently 24th best movies alltime- from box office sales, and 5th best movie for paramount all time. Now that hes no longer goign to direct a sequel for this blockbuster, its defintiely going to send vibes through to paramount.

This short term deal was just that, withouht foreseeing properly what the impact blockbusters like transformers will have. Now that he has clearly stated he will not direct transformers, paramount has definitely got it good way up their *******s.

Don't underestimate these people's ability to "buy his happiness". Now we play the waiting game to see what Paramount does. They won't back peddle just because of Bay.

They will prod, poke and try to wear him down. Bay may quit and the sequel is made without him. In any case, I am going to ready my stuff for sale on ebay. I am NOT having this BS.

The next couple of days will be critical to my decision.

Default Pearl Harbor

I am going to buy Pearl Harbor today. I own it on DVD and have been debating on picking it up on Blu-ray. Because of Mr. Bay's statements, I'm buying a copy on BD. We all need to email/write him and his company and show our support.
