The Criterion Golden Age of Television DVD box set has the 1956 TV version with Jack Palance.

I was discussing the 1962 Requiem for a Heavyweight with Anthony Quinn and Jackie Gleason. That one was produced by Columbia Pictures and is Sony, who KL doesn't have a deal with currently. Again, Mill Creek released it on DVD fairly recently while it was rumored Twilight Time had BD rights, but their release never materialized.

At last. Perhaps the worst-kept secret in KLSC history

So roughly 15 SC titles left to announce (hopefully the Insider can give us a final breakdown of numbers-by-decade tomorrow). I still think these will be among them:

Stiletto
Antichrist
(1974)
Tender Mercies
Deep Star Six
Extreme Prejudice
Narrow Margin

Very thankful for the official announcement of Murder by Decree. Thank you KLSC. I have a small blu ray collection (512) and I have only 48 DVDs. I would love to replace all 48 with a blu ray upgrade. It has become extremely rare to upgrade any of my DVDs, especially when 36 of them are either Warner or Paramount titles. I've had the Murder by Decree DVD since 2003. Can't wait to get the KL blu ray.

I'm pretty sure that we will get all of these. The big question is...when? Hopefully we get some more Studio Canal announcements soon.

Yeah, it's about time they announced this. Remember when we kept throwing names at him and he kept saying yes to them? I wonder if we would have gotten the announcement a lot sooner than this if we hadn't done that, because I was getting to the point where I was wondering if maybe they didn't have it after all.

Anyway, glad to see it's finally coming, one of my favourite Sherlock Holmes films.

The real question is, what's taking them so long to announce these (if they do indeed have them)? Maybe they'll do an all-80's announcement one of these weekends.

Studio Canal has Bert I. Gordon's VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS. I know that it's not coming soon, but I'm still hopeful that Kino will get to it eventually.

They need to put us out of our misery and give us Extreme Predjudice just so Duke Togo stops asking about it ...and because its awesome

I still don't think it's as good as any of the movies in Hill's halycon '75-84 streak, but it's got enough to recommend it and it needs saving from the ridiculously awful DVD we've been burdened with.

Truly hope that Kino has it (for those reasons and of course the other one you mentioned )

I know they shot it down, but I'd love them to eventually double dip on Santa Claus Conquers the Martians in the event SC had 35mm elements.

Did the Insider say that all the 1930s films from the second Universal deal had been released on DVD before? Or did I dream that?

Kino pretty much killed it with this weekend of announcements. Hollywoodland and Murder by Decree are both great films and finally glad these are getting Blu-ray's in the US. Hopefully next weekend we get another Universal/Studio Canal combo.

Its interesting in the sense in how some movies are handled for theatrical and home video distribution. They can basically fall off the radar when not handled properly.
