Do we know for a fact that the extra scenes from the DC only exist in SD quality?

The mention of Wild Things earlier. I'd like to see a box set of them all like what they did with the Poison Ivy movies. The sequels are pretty terrible but still fun, brainless movie watching.

Candyman 2 was on sale last week for under $14. That and the upcoming reboot have likely temporarily depleted stock (at least on Amazon). I reluctantly grabbed a copy despite my disdain for the film. BTW, I'm probably in the minority but I think Jordan Peele is overrated. I'm expecting his version of Candyman to be too arty for mainstream audiences. The film will probably make loads of money but it'll be mostly from people getting swept up in hype.

SF did a banged up terrific job on My Bloody valentine and it's one of their best releases.

I hope for some quality annoucements.

Damn, I thought Shout usually ships out steelbooks in boxes. They used a padded envelope to send out 2 steels and I think one may be dented underneath the J card (Halloween II). I hate having to send stuff back for replacement (or dealing with replacements in general).

A lot of MGM owned stuff Scream Factory put out is OOP. Any news if another label is picking any of them up?

Since War of the Worlds (1953) and I Married a Monster from Outer Space blu-rays are being released in Australia, then maybe Shout Factory was able to secure rights to these for a USA release. Otherwise, I guess I will be ordering these from Australia.

With the release of War of the Worlds in Australia, I wonder if this will force Scream Factory's hand so they will tell us whether they have access to it or not.

It is actually being released by Via Vision and Madman will be a distribution point in Australia. It is available through Via Vision's website for $34.95 However the shipping is $20.00. Madman's coming soon includes March and April. I may wait until March and see if they list it on their site to see what the total cost is.

To follow up, Shout confirmed Candyman 2 is NOT OOP. Just wanted to post, in case my question did cause anyone to panic buy despite it being only a question. I know how jumpy we can get at even the mention. Haha

Yes, as I stated in two earlier posts when WOTW was announced in Australia, Scream Factory has to do something fast. If they have it, they should announce it very soon. And if they don't have it, I'm wondering just what kind deal with Paramount they have?

I would agree with this. I have enjoyed his films but don't feel like they have any sort of lasting staying power nor are they anything particularly special. I was really impressed with how much I enjoyed "Truth or Dare" a year or two ago when that came out but that film certainly isn't anything special or memorable and yet Jordan Peele's efforts are very much in line with that level of filmmaking despite the heaps of praise he has received. That said, I'm all for more mainstream horror efforts and more directors that carry some name recognition and their own style of filmmaking. Jordan Peele's movies may not exactly strike a cord with me, but I can appreciate the kinds of films he makes for what they are, just like how I can enjoy Rob Zombies films for what they are. In both examples I need to be in the right frame of mind to want to watch their movies, but when I am I usually have a good time.

In regards to the Candyman re-imagining/sequel... From what I have read my guess is that it's going to be quite divisive depending on one's expectations. I actually think the film could turn out to be fairly enjoyable and well received, but the legacy of Candyman will forever be ret-conned and because of that I expect quite a bit of pushback as well.

Spoilers ahead
[Show spoiler]From what I have read thus far, it sounds like Tony Todd has only a blink and you'll miss it cameo to explain that "Candyman" isn't a single man/entity, but rather a sort of hive/colony that encompasses a large number of "Candymen". Apparently if my research is correct, a Bee sting from one of the special Candyman Bee's is how the Candyman Curse/entity spreads and thus in this new film we'll see the introduction of a new Candyman as part of this colony.

My hunch is that folks that found enjoyment in Child's Play 2019 will likely find enjoyment in the new Candyman Film. Those that disliked Child's Play may well have similar complaints regarding the nature of this film. I'm approaching the new film with an open mind and hoping for the best as I love seeing these modern Horror Icons revived but if what I read is true it could easily go poorly if not done correctly.

I'm only interested in the first Beastmaster. I didn't care for the sequels.

I’m still looking forward to the new Candyman, probably my most anticipated movie this year so far along with Halloween Kills. As for Jordan Peele, I really liked Get Out & loved Us so I’ll look forward to any horror film he personally directs. I know he only produced Candyman but I’ve always been a fan of the series & have wanted a new one for a while.

I feel like there is a distinct lack of name recognizable Horror writers/directors these days. With so many great ones throughout the 80's and 90's that are now starting to get up their in years, I'm always happy to see new talent emerge, even when I don't necessarily consider myself a fan of their work.

Anybody else still waiting for their order from the sale in early February? Placed an order on February 10th and besides for a confirmation email haven't heard zip. Don't ever order direct from shout, so didn't know if this was the standard time frame.

I'm giving it until Monday before I contact them. Like I said on a prior page, I normally don't give a $hit when I get sales orders, but 3 weeks with no notification is ridiculous.

If the Aussie releases of WAR and MARRIED are region-locked, I'd guess that somebody else has acquired those titles for US or UK release.
