I finally uncorked Malice last night after a lot of waffling. It's one of those movies where the first impulse is to say there's too much going on, but then you realize, with great pleasure, that its twisty, misdirecting journey is all part of its oddly-appealing charm and it wouldn't be quite the same if it did it any other way.

From serial killer thriller to ethical drama and finally bendy film noir, I just let this thing take me along and I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with a movie. Three terrific leads, ace cameos from the great Scott and Bancroft (the latter recalling Page's Oscar-nominated, scene-stealing appearance in The Pope of Greenwich Village), a classic monologue and perhaps eye-rolling yet nail-biting climax, and yeah...I think I loved this.

I agree with everything you said, I absolutely love it, an all time favorite. Like you said from serial thriller to drama to Hitchcock, it hits all the good spots for me.

However, in Australia, Sorry, Wrong Number is being released on Blu-ray, and Paramount has just today announced a new "Paramount Presents" series of discs today, so the chances of it being released in the U.S. have increased dramatically.

As for the rest of the Paramount movies, most 1929-1949 sound films* were purchased by MCA in 1958, and were acquired by Universal in 1962 when they merged with MCA. Another user on this site has complied a complete list of the Paramount titles Universal owns today, and the list is in the link below:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=12

*Special Note: One Paramount silent film, The Four Feathers (1929), was included in the deal. From what I've read elsewhere, MCA mistakenly included this title in their purchase as they believed that this was a sound film, while in reality it only had a Movietone synchronized score and sound effects soundtrack on it, with no dialogue. Regardless, Universal still owns this title today.
Kudos for this excellent, very resourceful post. Thank you for all the useful research and information.

Coming to Blu-ray on May 5th from Kino Classics and Something Weird!

TOMORROW'S CHILDREN (1934) and CHILD BRIDE (1938)
Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture
Volume 5

Exploitation films of the 1930s didn’t only warn citizens of the dangers of drugs and venereal disease. The genre brazenly confronted on a wide array of distasteful issues, as evidenced in this double feature of two of the most bizarre entries in the exploitation canon. Tomorrow’s Children is an exposé of eugenics, in which a young woman (Diane Sinclair) from a family of genetic degenerates is ordered by the court to be sterilized. Notorious even by today’s standards, Child Bride follows a crusading schoolteacher (Diana Durrell) as she tries to halt the practice of child marriage in a backwoods community, before it claims another innocent victim (Shirley Mills).

Special features:
*Audio commentary for Tomorrow’s Children by Eric Schaefer, author of Bold! Daring! Shocking! True!: A History of Exploitation Films
*Audio commentary for Child Bride by film historian Alexandra Heller-Nicholas
*Trailer gallery

A MAN, A WOMAN AND A BANK (1979)
• Audio Commentary With Director Noel Black and Producer Peter Samuelson
• NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historians Dean Brandum and Andrew Nette
• Optional English Subtitles
• Dual-Layered BD50 Disc

Color 101 Minutes 1.78:1 Rated PG
The only thing riskier than the crime of the century is the romance of a lifetime! Small-time con artist Reese (Donald Sutherland, Klute, The Great Train Robbery, M*A*S*H) and his computer expert best friend Norman (Paul Mazursky, Fear and Desire, Blume in Love) concoct an ingenious plot for the perfect bank robbery: re-program the sophisticated electronic vault alarm system of a huge Vancouver bank while the building is still under construction, then calmly wait to make one very large withdrawal. But when Reese falls for a kooky commercial photographer (Brooke Adams, Days of Heaven, Cuba) who snapped shots of their plans, the ultimate heist takes some very unexpected turns in this wonderful crime comedy directed by Noel Black (Pretty Poison, Private School).

So, its one of those 90’s potboiler thrillers that is more entertaining than it should be.

No, it means they're decided to release some of their essentials themselves, as I had noted before.

Right now our plates are pretty full with our Universal and Studiocanal titles. And we're close to signing another smaller studio deal very soon.

Will it be possible to order just the nifty slipbox for the Pink Panther cartoons for those of us dedicated enough to buy them as they were released individually? Because that is pretty.

We may setup something where you can pay for the mailing and handling cost and get the slipcase, but it's not confirmed.

It was a good run. To be honest I didn't expect you to reopen that line of questioning, so I'm very grateful for that.

I do have a question about 60s westerns - you said you had 5, including 2 new-to-DVD. Are you including the TV western in those numbers, or are all 5 theatrical films?
