If the film comes out in 2021, Kirby will be 27/28. What are the odds Kirby as a grown ass woman would have the same hairstyle as she did as a teenager? People change.

They should just put Sidney/Gale/Dewey on hold and give Kirby a teenage sibling to be the lead.

Think about that for a second. She literally just changed her hairstyle similar to what she had when filming S4. There's no rulebook that says you can't go back and get a similar hair style that you've had in the past. Hell, I had long hair all throughout high school and a few years after that. I cut it all off and the decided to grow my hair back about 3 years ago. So it happens.

Now, whether or not this confirms that she will be part of the new sequel is a whole other story.

Hmm...could they really be filming already though? Normally studios love to announce the writer then director...seems odd that she'd be in character ready to go unless this is a super (somewhat) secret project, which I highly doubt.

Well yeah, if she’s mentioning the character, I doubt it would be all that secret. I think it’s just a throwback kind of post.

That's how it's always is. Everyone is motivated by greed. Or at least are concerned with making money. That's how the world turns. You have to make money to survive.

I think Jay H. meant that, in his opinion, the first Scream was good, the second one less so and the third one really bad. He probably ignores the fourth because either he dislikes the third so much he refuses to ever watch the fourth or he watched the fourth and disliked it so much that he thinks it doesn’t count.

Scream 4 was a blast, IMO. And well 3 was certainly the weakest of the series, I wouldn't call it, "really bad." I'd just say that it was disappointing. Then again, Williamson didn't write 3, which explains a good deal.

Williamson wrote the overall outline for Ehren Kruger to write the main screenplay.
Honestly, I don't know how I feel about a fifth movie without Wes or Williamson involved as those were the two components that made the franchise what it is.

None of the Scream movies were bad. #3 was the worst, but I thought it was more mediocre than outright bad.

They certainly were. But I'm willing to keep having hope, being such a big fan of the series. Hopefully that hope won't end up being dashed.

*fingers crossed*

Scream 5 Officially Happening

Quote:
Discussing Film has learned that ‘Scream 5’ is in development and is targeting to begin filming in May.

‘Ready or Not’ directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be helming the film. Chad Villella and original ‘Scream’ writer Kevin Williamson will executive produce. William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein will produce the film.

Plot details are scarce but sources say it will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. It is unknown if it will follow the story of the past four ‘Scream’ films or pave a new direction for the franchise.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the studio Spyglass will be developing the film, and production companies Radio Silence, Outerbank Entertainment, and Project X Entertainment will be behind the film.

More details to come… (Source)

Craven said they threw out the outline because they wanted to make one in Hollywood. Williamson's original outline had Syd returning to Woodsboro much like 4 did.

We regret to inform you Scream 5 has been delayed due to the corona virus.

(sorry)

But yeah this sounds okay to me! Kevin Williamson is at least involved in some capacity. I hope it happens.

Why not. Maybe at worst it'll be fun, and can't possibly be more disappointing than Scream 4. I wonder if I'll have to force myself to watch Ready or Not to know the directors.

Ready or Not is fantastic. And after 3 being the worst thing ever, 4 was a nice surprise.

Where are you getting that it might begin filming in May? Haven't seen that suggested anywhere.
