There some interesting ones, but most are region locked...the rest are very expensive. For whatever reason only Amazon UK has good prices, and their shipping to the US is very reasonable.

how about languages/subtitles? Amazon.fr doesn't give you any of this information.

I check www.mediadis.com to see if English subtitles are available on the French films. Or, you can post an inquiry on the International Board here, and Pro-Bassoonist will likely have the info. She's the guru of all things international!

I'd really recommend www.dvdfr.com for audio/subtitle info of French discs.

Basically, yeah.

Some of the earlier StudioCanal releases were Region Free, I believe.

Some TF1 and StudioCanal releases can be watched using the "Triangle Trick" on a Region A PS3.

Ok, thanks for the answer and the tip.

But unfortunately I have a DMP-BD60, so no region unlock for the blu ray part (I've seen for the dvd part with a harmony remote and a hack you can dezone that) unless a chip mod and that is no way for now. It's voiding your warranty and it's more expensive than the player itself. I'd prefer to buy a new one if I had to.

It's funny it's kind of like DVD players at the beginning of their launch and after a while you could dezone almost all the new players with the remote...

EDIT:

Oh and I was forgetting Wild Side that apparently is region free too?

Not really - they lock on per-title basis.

You can also check the blu reviews of this website, they put the zone coding on each blu-ray reviewed:

And you should not be - their coding info is completely unreliable. I hope this does not come off the wrong way, suggesting that we are the only reliable source when it comes to region-coding info, but neither DVDFr nor DVDRAMA can be trusted when it comes to region coding. (Dobermann, Mesrine and all sorts of other reviews they have published are prime examples why). The same goes for English-subs availability.

We are the most reliable source for region coding/subtitles info (and I am most definitely ready to defend my statement).

for your information UK do not use Euros, they still use GBP.

and currently the GBP is very weak compared to the Euro which explain the low prices.
