I do find it interesting that no one(Criterion, SF, etc.) is able to get Lionsgate titles but Universal can license the original Halloween from them.

Is there any chance of getting the 1978 Halloween as a 4K steelbook?

All my other 4K Carpenters are steelies, so obviously I'm now stuck in OCD hell.

They deal with Sony in the UK with Evil Dead all the time

Shout made it work for their Halloween box set. I think exceptions can be made for popular franchise bundles, but not much else.

Actaully Criterion has licensed two titles from Lionsgate: Noah Baumbach's Kicking and Screaming and Godfrey Reggio's Naqoyqatsi (though this is Miramax thru Lionsgate)

In that situation it was Miramax before Lionsgate got their titles.

Hope the “Extended Version” of H78’ gets a blu ray release at some point. It was released in Italy recently.

Yes, you’re both correct. I thought it would get it’s own BD release by now like H6PC did. This Italian release I mention includes it as it’s own disc along with a regular BD and the 4K.
Region B unfortunately.

They’ve also released a box set (in Italy) of the first 9 films. It omits the RZ films and the 2018 sequel while using a pic of the 2018 mask as the cover.

I do own the box set, but I was under the impression the extended edition was on a dvd and not a blu ray., I lost the paper that described the details that was glued to the box.

I was told the aspect ratio changes part way through the film?
