If I decide to upgrade, I'll just put the discs into my existing SW Saga collection.
I’m too wondering if they are final as they are absolutely awful .

They are just using the same artwork as last years Blu-Ray re-releases so I wouldn’t count on anything changing.

I now agree with this, but seeing it in the theater as a young teen I was just the right age to think Yoda with a lightsaber was the coolest thing ever.

Before you listen to what bill says, remember that he thinks The Phantom Menace is a better movie than this. That's right he's a fan of Jar Jar Binks.

Because it is a better movie, with or without Jar Jar.

Agreed. AOTC is horrible. TPM isn't much better but it is better.

Jar Jar isn't exactly the Reason why folks would hate TPM, He contributes but he is not the Sole Reason. That Said, AOTC is miles, miles worse.

I agree. AOTC imo is easily the worst SW film.

I was referring to the technical part of the review. I quite like the movie

Does the 4K version have the re-structured editing at the end like the 2011 BD release?

Man, it's pretty eye-popping how severely and vehemently Bill's opinion on the film has changed since its original release back in 2002 -- he throws massive bit$h salt all over it in his new 4K review, compared to his earlier take on the movie:

To be fair, I think that's pretty common for a lot of people. My initial reactions to both Episode I and II were a bit more positive than how I came to think of them after a bit of time and a few more viewings. I distinctly remember going to see Episode II and immediately thinking it was a big improvement after my Episode I disappointment had long settled in. A few years later and reevaluating them, I actually thought the movie was in a lot of ways worse. To this day, I flip-flop over which of the two is my least favorite Star Wars movie.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, Disney used the exact digital masters for all three prequel films that were used for the Blu-Ray editions, then upscaled them and regraded them in HDR. Episode I still has the DNR, and Episode II still has the teal tint and those re-edited scenes (the Coruscant chase sequence towards the beginning also has a couple of editing tweaks).

Wanted to ask Geoff: This and Ep III were shot digitally in 1080p, as I understand it. Can this be “true” 4K? If it worth it for the HDR?

Why do the editing changes in AOTC matter so much? Why are they such a big deal?
