When they are handing it out they've only been handing out one pack per person.
Stores can certainly and legally enforce limits on certain items. Most do, the thing is people are buying TP every single time they see it in stores, just because it's there.

And it's not just herd mentality. When there is a run on certain items, everyone gets concerned about future availability so even the "rational" people start stocking up to be safe.

Going on 3 weeks since I've seen toilet paper anywhere. I've been going to Walmart early in the morning when there's less people and I still can't find any.

What a bunch of ... we're already seeing a "don't ask too many questions" attitude over here. Typical dip-shits, threaten to fire the brave individuals that risk their lives on the front-line.

Perhaps if they raise attention they'll get help from sectors that may not know they can provide it (some of the car manufacturers in Europe are designing new ventilators).

I'm sure doctors and nurses would happily get fired, but they actually care, care to the point where the skin on their ears and faces is breaking down because they're wearing masks for 20 odd hours a day.

Ok, so only about 5,000 cases to go before NY alone has as many cases as China. And that will most likely happen by tomorrow.

Time to quarantine NY!

If I don't get toilet paper soon, you'll have more reasons not to shake my hand other than the fear of contracting the virus.

Boy, Walmart's really taken hold of this country. They've apparently gotten so big that people have forgotten there are other, smaller independent shops that also sell things like toilet paper, toothpaste, meat, etc. What is it about these big box places that have people so entranced that they ONLY shop there?

The thing with here in NY is that most stores are closed. The only stores open are the supermarkets and pharmacies and all are cleaned out.

Last week, I stopped at Target at opening, and while at self-checkout, watched the cashier covering SCO walk over quickly to a man lined up at another register with a water gallon in his cart. She reminded him that she just saw him leave to his car with water minutes before and that there was a strict 2 water product limit and that the signage was there. He barely put up a fight with her as she grabbed the gallon out of his cart, and she walked past me muttering under her breath, “Unfreakingbelievable.” And I agreed with her. He was trying to be slick by paying and returning back moments later using a different register so nobody would notice him.

Like where exactly? There's none around me. Grocery stores are the same story, Target and dollar stores too. Stores like Target and Walmart have everything in one store so there's hardly reason to go elsewhere unless it is a situation like this with toilet paper.

You know theres this little thing called water. Been around for years. Some people drink it, but it can also be used to clean your bottom...

There's lack of gear, no hiding that. Supplies are being taken from less busy departments and being moved to main hospital. There's a lot of improv going on to make things as safe as possible. Smaller clinics around the south bay are also being emptied out, equipment and supplies being moved to hospital. Hearing some of those smaller clinics may also be temporarily closed and staff will be moved to where they are needed most. The cities convention center is being prepped for the coming month, the plan is to use it for non cover patients. Hope it doesn't come to that. BTW, i'm not aware of docs and staff being threatened to not speak out about the lack of equipment, it's pretty much common knowledge around the country that things are needed ASAP.

Um, not realy sure why you're saying no to their post. If one didn't have toilet paper, a shower would obviously be a perfectly good alternative, and probably better one. Similarly a bidet is also a superior option to toilet paper.
