Well, it doesn't take away the facts:

(1) He said it
(2) The site webmaster came on here and confirmed he said it.

He made an overly emotional post. But, it was an honest reaction, before the realities of agents and Hollywood crept into it.

The point is, Paramount wants Bay to make them hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars again sometime, right? Seems messing around p!ssing off their key directors is a really dumb thing to do for only $150 million.

Default Michael Bay: The Morning After retraction?

http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum...ghlight=#31217

Quote:
Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three blu-ray owners, they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted. I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard.

As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about a corporate decision.

So today I saw 300 on HD, it rocks!

So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!

Maybe Spielberg will call & talk to him next and he'll flop again like a fish on a sidewalk. Glad I didn't order The Island import yet. What a spinless tool.

Sound like he was either bought, or threatened with a lawsuite of sorts !?

Either way, none of this stuff is adding up anymore.

Default Michael Bay now seems to like HD DVD?

These have been a couple of crazy days. Now Michael Bay seems to like HD DVD after watching "300" and understanding Paramount's position.

ok .. I am probably about to start something here ... but

300 had a lot of grain. Yes, 300 looked awesome with the grain... but do you guys really think this was a good title for him to base such a big decision on? Perhaps he should have watched the 5th element or bridge to therabitia instead!

Maybe he was referring to the Picture-in-Picture extras and web content?

He didn't really indicated what it was that 'rocked', but that would be my guess since it wasn't on the Blu-ray. Sounds like someone from Paramount personally ran over to his place with an HD DVD player and sat him down and explained a few things to him from their position.

I agree, and it's really starting to become irritating! Why can't people make up their minds and/or say what they really mean? Now with Michael Bay's antics, this whole thing is starting to develop a tabloid/soap opera feel that is just a huge turnoff to be personally. I remember how exciting DVD was when it came out, but that feeling is definitely not with this "format war." I love Blu-ray and will continue to support it wholeheartedly, but all of this corporate and publicity based side-switching is really starting to curb my enthusiasm! I thought home video was supposed to be fun and enjoyable...All of these greedy corporate hacks should leave the drama to the movies that they should be releasing FOR US!!!
