It is very ironic that people hated on George for so long, and then, all of a sudden they wanted him back. You made your bed fan community. Now you've got to sleep in it.

It's also ironic that a franchise all about not letting anger and hatred take control has a fanbase that is mostly comprised of fans who seemingly love to be hateful.

It was the catalyst that lead to the beginning of The Clone Wars.

I did not hear a cutout there. Also someone asked earlier on whether the surround channel sounded crispy due to clipping as the Death Star explodes and that remains to be the case.

Also in ANH with an angled overhead close-up of R2-D2 outside the escape pod while bickering with C3-PO when his head turns the DNR causes some serious image break up and aliasing on the edge of his dome and eye piece.

I would not say the original trilogy look "really processed". Nor do they have much or any visible DNR. I wanted them to look just a bit more film like. But they are just shy of having that beautiful pre-digital film grain I love on some other classics such as -

A Few Good Men,
Saving Private Ryan,
Patriot,
Ghostbusters (Classic),
Superman (Classic)
Crouching Tiger,
Goodfellas,
Alien,
Batman 89,
and Raimi's Spiderman.

Writing for all 6 was about equal. It was the dialogue that wasn't so great. Goes for all 6.
Cinematography was great across all 6.
The plot of the prequels was the only time the series was plotted out (for the most part) from the beginning of a trilogy.

The Sequels my have had "better" acting, but thats the ONLY thing going for it.
As varied in quality as the acting was in the OT, the PT doesn't even come close. Not with the way George insisted they read their lines. You can see poor Ewan Mcgregor fighting hard to inject all of his own personal charisma into half the dribble Lucas had him spewing half the time.

An intriguing character means nothing if they're so poorly acted and written that you feel nothing for them. They felt like humans in the OT. In the PT they felt like soulless CGI.

The plot of the prequels is the only redeeming element. As far as how a democracy becomes a dictatorship and the fall of Anakin skywalker.

The sequels have much more going for them than the acting, but a good actor makes a scene believable and a believable scene makes all the difference. Fin, Poe, Rey, feel like a classic star wars trio, faults and all. The ST are about as messy as the OT, with the on the spot made up twists n all. Yoda's scene, Kylo's arc, and the spot on recreation of the feel of the OT more than make up for its weak moments.

Midichlorians, lest we forget. Whenever the ST talks about the force, it's with the reverence and respect it deserves not the science magic Lucas invented.

And if it wasn't enough for Lucas to ruin star wars with his PT, he went and ruined the OT with more of his CGI garbage.

Nope, the ST are a redemption story for star wars, much like Kylo ren, by the end it saved a franchise in much need of a new hope.

Have you seen the OT on Disney+ by any chance. I take it the UHDs more or less look the same?

You sound like one of them. I've also loved the prequels since Day 1. Plenty of other people on these boards have expressed similar sentiments.

I would love to watch you watch them.

I bet you're mostly bored and on your phone half the time.

I'm serious. There's no way people enjoy them as much as they say they do.

McGregor has as much charisma as a block of wood - much like his acting abilities.

He's made lots of bad film decisions. I always thought he was great in train spotting and moulin rogue.

I don't know why it would matter, but I was 16. I grew up with the OT on VHS.
