Once I upgrade to a larger TV (I'm looking at a 65" 4K set), I would imagine those artifacts will become more noticeable.
Could have told you that before and saved you the time. It’s not a big revelation.

Convenience at a huge price. Not worth it. If you have good tv or projector, I see it as abuse to feed that crap into it.

If you switch, you have basically given up on HT and hsve become one of the masses with their tv above the fireplace.

Watched Parasite 3-D last night, PQ was not a very good but did have a couple of pop-outs that made you move or squirm. Next up was Dredd in 3-D, much better PQ. Have several more 3-D titles we have not watched.

With your setup there is no way for you to know what the quality of BD is. You do not even know what frame rate you view content at, if motion interpolation is On or Off, what your gray scale tracking is, color gamut tracking, etc., etc.

NO streamer provides lossless audio, most BD titles have lossless audio and many have lossless immersive audio as well.

NO streamer provides frame packed 3-D.

Do you have any of the Golden era 3D to watch? I could recommend several of them if you are interested. They have very strong depth with excellent negative Parallax to boot.

Did you see the U.S. unemployment numbers for this week? 6.6 million new claims! And that is on top of last weeks previous record of 3.3 million unemployment claims. Almost 10 million unemployment claims in just the last two weeks!

Discretionary spending is essentially gone for far too many people as they can't even afford essentials now. I am incredibly fortunate to not be personally affected, but it is only a matter of time before someone that I know will be.

The magic that is adaptive streaming means that if your ISP gives you symmetrical 85 Mbps over a wired connection then all streaming bitrates from all providers are transformed into 85 Mbps bitrates every time.

My ISP, when it works, delivers download speeds of approx. 230 Mbps, so that makes my streaming bitrates even more better than that.

Very . It is weird how many times we have provided that poster info showing the data rates for HD streaming yet he believes they are much higher than they are. Could be I am not using silver plated wiring.

Sometime back a reviewer posted he installed a $35 coiled cord between his telephone set and the handset. After the install he said he was able to "talk much faster".

House Of Wax is outstanding, you won’t be disappointed.

I haven’t already listed so my top five would be as follows:

(Excluding House Of Wax obviously)

Inferno
It Came From Outer Space
The Maze
3D Rarities (both volumes)
The Mad Magician (with two 15 minute Three Stooges extras in 3D)

Never purchased a streaming UHD title and have no plans to do such. Have done a few DVD2HD and about 3 outright HD streaming purchase. Kept the DVD's with DD tracks that were used in the DVD2HD purchase because the DVD's had much better sound tracks.

No way, most UHD disc comes with a BD and code. No matter how you slice it or dice it the disc will have better PQ and AQ.

I only buy physical media. I use subscription streaming services but would never make a digital purchase. If I watch something through streaming that I want to own I purchase the Blu-ray or UHD. I enjoy having a physical collection and all the benefits that come with it.

You're all in now Vilya! Super Star Wars fan, here you come!

I ordered the big set but I'm not a fanatic. There are people on the Star Wars thread who've seen the films 200 - 300 times, that is excessive! I might have seen the series 8 times through. At a guess. I watched them all before TROS and if I watch them again in 4K, that will be it for a good while.

https://www.nextgenhometheater.com/hdr10-uhd-blu-rays/

Titles available on HDR10+ not many at all vs Dolby Vision. Have you noticed that HDR10+ takes precedence on the box art? Take Alita, there is no mention of Dolby Vision on the slipcover or case! But it says HDR10+

Those Star Wars UHD discs have to sound awesome with Dolby Atmos 7.1. Those seem like titles that would benefit from immersive audio. Weren't those titles some of the first that came out on DVD with Dolby Digital 5.1 EX? I know my Star Wars Ep 1 DVD had DD 5.1 EX.

I would only buy them again if they came out with the unaltered original cuts in 4K.

I don't think that's ever gonna happen. They'll have only remastered these versions and it will be the last home video release (in terms of resolution / HDR.) They will re-release them in steelbooks / individually but it will be this transfer.

It sucks that Disney couldn't be bothered releasing the films in Dolby Vision / HDR10+ and even downgraded TLJ to HDR10.

Yup. Episode 1 was the first movie ever in Dolby Digital 5.1 EX (adding mono 6th channel, not discrete but a derivative of surround L and Surround R a’la centre channel in Pro Logic)
