so basically every award show in every country is going to look exactly the same lol. I get that films today are essentially global collaboratives. there could be companies from the U.S., Britain, New Zealand, all working on a single film. So what country does that film belong to? and would it not be able to compete in a hypothetical award show that is restricted only to the country where the award show is based?

Im sure they have their reasons for what theyre doing and as a layperson Im not a position to criticize something i dont know a lot about, I just always assumed the British Awards were for British films, Oscars were primarily for American films (besides Best Foreign Picture) etc. it gets into a larger debate of the concept of borders, countries, nationalities, but of course that discussion isnt allowed here so i guess ill leave it at that

Us here living in North American continent the Academy Awards (Oscars) in Hollywood is a film gauge we motion picture arts and sciences culture evolve with about our Blu-rays, our entertainment @ the movies, our 4K Blus (3D), our local IMAX movie theaters (70mm, Dolby Cinema), films from all over starting with Disney's Mickey Mouse (animations) and running the full gamut up to Parasite (South Korea), 1917 (Sam Mendes, British), The Irishman (Martin Scorsese, Italian-American), and A Hidden Life (Terrence Malick, American).

The rules that govern the Academy Awards ...

Next year for the 93rd Academy Awards (2021), trying to predict the Best Picture Oscar winner is like surfing above molasses on a Winter storm in the Sahara desert.

Any movie, regardless of its country of origin, is eligible for all of the Oscar categories if it plays in a movie theater in Los Angeles County during the period of eligibility.

The purpose of the International Award is the same as the Animated Feature Award, it allows films under those subcategories to actually be recognized on a regular basis.

The qualification rules for the International Award are completely different from the Best Picture qualification rules, it just so happens that Parasite satisfied both so it qualified for both categories and subsequently won them.

My belated ranking of this year's Oscar nominees:

1. Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood
2. The Irishman
3. Little Women
4. Ford v Ferrari
5. Parasite
6. Joker
7. Jojo Rabbit
8. 1917
9. Marriage Story

Only the first four actually deserve the nomination, IMO, but all of them are good. A fine selection by the Academy, who showed a more adventurous taste in picking the winner.

Tori loves her molasses as well. So there's something you have in common.

Does anyone know or have a link of a site in which you can watch the full show of the 92nd Academy Awards, possibly in HD and Ultra HD??? (Possibly a free site, no payment to register yourself)

Thank you, if someone has an answer it would be really appreciated.
