What titles were you searching for? It's possible you were looking for out of print and long gone titles which is why you couldn't find them.

Personally I usually just go here...

https://www.shoutfactory.com/collection/scream-factory

...and then scroll down as it lists all of their current product (from the Scream Factory line) in alphabetical order. I know it may not be quite as efficient as searching directly, but it will guarantee that you'll see everything they still have for sale.

I just placed a larger than I was really comfortable with order with SF (after my first four of PRISON, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, THE OUTING/THE GODSEND, AFTER MIDNIGHT). I ordered:

1 [BD ] Piranha [Limited Edition Steelbook] $16.99
1 [BD ] Vice Squad [Collector's Edition] $20.39
1 [BD/DVD ] Deadtime Stories $16.12
1 [BD ] The Dungeonmaster / Eliminators [Double Feature] $11.86
1 [BD ] Obsession [Collector's Edition] $21.19
1 [Blu-ray ] The Curse / Curse II: The Bite [Double Feature] $18.69
1 [BD ] Dead Ringers [Collector's Edition] $16.99
1 [BD ] The Guardian $16.12
1 [BD ] A Quiet Place In The Country $20.39
1 [BD ] Firestarter [Collector's Edition] $16.12
1 [Blu-ray ] The Critters Collection $47.57

A few of these will be first time views. I’m excited to check out A QUIET PLACE IN THE COUNTRY after recent recs here in the forum.

I liked CK a good deal, it was a sort of James Bond meets Hammer Gothic movie, one of the few in which the protagonist is not a puritan averse to the pleasures of the flesh. The action is quite decent, there's a dry wit spouting sidekick and, oh yes, Catherine Munro mmmmm

I watched my copy of Captain Kronos over the weekend, and I really enjoyed it. I watched the featurette afterward, Anything Goes: Hammer Film in the 70s, and it was interesting to hear them speculate on what could have happened had Hammer continued and possibly done sequels to Captain Kronos. A Dracula vs. Captain Kronos (with Christopher Lee returning as Dracula) would have been exciting to see. Of course, Christopher Lee was already done playing Dracula by the time Captain Kronos came out.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've actually spent the last week watching almost nothing but Scream/Criterion Special Features I've never gotten around to watching before, especially commentaries. It's a great way to kill a couple of hours.

I've always loved Prom Night and have seen it on virtually every home video format, and wow did Synapse do an incredible job with it. The movie really got a gorgeous restoration. Truly one of the best for a cult/horror title. The colours are so lush, especially during the disco scenes at the end, and the fact that you can actually see what's going on now during the darker scenes adds so much to the film. Wendy's chase scene is one of the best the genre has to offer.

The talent assembled for the film is impeccable to me.
And every time I revisit it, I enjoy and am fully invested in it for about the first two acts. Then, I don't know what it is, but the last act just peters out for me.

On paper there's nothing wrong with it conceptually, but I always find myself drifting out of the material and by the end my reaction is simply "meh". There wasn't anything I can point to that I hated, but the urgency of it all just dissipated somewhere.

It's a film I want to love given the talent and premise involved, but after several viewing down through the years it has still failed to fully click with me.

I still would have tossed it into a Target order this week if it was available, but it's probably just as well it wasn't.

I haven't watched a single Polanski (or Salva) movie. Make of that what you will.

Thanks to all those who responded to my prior question about a few titles. I actually wound up going with all 3 that people called out as recommended:

All three arrived the other day in pretty timely manner considering all that is going on.

And then, despite my best intentions to stop buying until June, I caved today on 3 more because I heard 2 of them were going OOP (both blind buys) and then I love the De Palma. Doubled up on Paul Schrader scripts too!

At least I managed to grab all these from Second Spin the past few months. Before they closed up shop.

Great haul!

And I had no idea Second Spin closed. They were one of the first places I ever ordered from online back in the early-2000s, when they still sold used VHS.

I've been hesitant to post this for the last several months until I finally got around to picking up a copy (which I did earlier today) but what is going on with "The Entity"? The film has been unavailable directly from Amazon for months now, is listed as being on backorder from Deepdiscount and Diabolik, is not available at all from Target or Best Buy and in general just seems more difficult than usual to come by. Wal-mart appears to still have copies as does Shout Factory but beyond these two retailers the film has had all the warning signs of a film that may be out of print. I've actively been following the film for at least 6 months now, well before any of the current distribution issues popped up and it has by and large been unavailable for purchase from all but the two retailers I mentioned above.

To the best of my knowledge this film was never a limited edition but it sure does seem like it's on its way out. Those interested may want to look around themselves and see what they find as this one defies logic why it's so much more difficult to find.

Isn't The Entity a Fox title? If so, it going OOP may not be an entirely unreasonable thought...

Yeah, but you would think whatever their license agreement was prior to the buyout, it wouldn’t be affected - at least not this soon.

It could simply be that they pressed a large number for the initial release and now with everything going on it might not be so easy to repress and not as high a priority title as some others...especially with as yet released titles already getting pushed back for the same reason.
