I might buy a stand-alone Criterion release of Enter the Dragon, with some really cool cover art.

But none of the other films really interest me.

The only scene in Game of Death that’s worth watching is the climatic fight scene between Bruce and Kareem.

...the cutout face of Bruce they used is flat out embarrassing.

This is great news but is this the whole months announcement? Is there more coming on the 15th.

I'm excited about the set because Chuck Norris will finally be part of the Criterion Collection.

Shout did some exclusive color corrections to the supplied masters. Criterion will either do their own corrections or supply the original green-tinted Hong Kong masters. You can see a comparison here:

I've been holding off getting the Bruce Lee master collection until it drops to a really cheap price, which it already is pretty good right now
This might sway me though. I dunno if the UK will get it but if it goes like Godzilla on Amazon last year & drops dramatically, I may pick it up. But it is onlonly 5 films compared to the Godzilla boxset so I think there will be a big price drop between now & release

I howled laughing, and Streisand is absolutely gorgeous. She just does it for me! And what could be said about Ryan O'Neal; perfection playing the Cary Grant-like character and SO many character actors. And the outdoor scenes of 70's San Francisco? Amazing! The film needs to been seen in this day and age of constant depressing news. It's a long shot, but the Blu-ray came out 10 years ago and it would be a God-send. What do you say, Criterion?
The existing release is already quite good. I'd rather they get Paper Moon, which hasn't had a blu-ray release in the states.

I've had Enter the Dragon on my DVR forever. Now I can delete it, and buy the Bruce Lee set. That announcement has put a real big smile on my face.

Anyone that has an ounce of intuition can see that WB has plans for an Enter the Dragon 4K release. I'll be double dipping.

Completely agree. Fantastic film and Criterion release. Michael Douglas is one of my favourite actors, and he is so good in this.

I wonder if Criterion will maybe announce the rest of July's titles today, or still wait until tomorrow?

That was a big announcement, yesterday, and it was very surprising, because they don't usually announce anything right after a holiday like that.

Anyway, just curious what else they're releasing in July.

They are releasing so much great stuff this year!!!

With Criterion on a roll with these genre classics recently, I think it is time for me to renew my wish for the John Woo films. That is a box set I would pay full price for, and some of them have recently been restored.

Considering who the majority of those films are with in the US/CA it might be awhile.

But is it one of those films that loses its appeal after a few watches because it has such a great twist?
Maybe one to watch once a year or so.
I'll watch it again this week with the commentary track on though

Did expect a few more extras...
