Will you still be moving forward with other UHDs this year?

No, they would rather release the films themselves. Special Editions of titles like King Creole and BD-Rs of films like Funeral in Berlin.

Yes, we may add more later, but right now, this is only confirmed title.

The deal is not signed yet. The studio is on lockdown. But hopefully it gets signed soon, so we could release both this year.

Sucks and sad to hear. Would have rather you guys release Funeral in Berlin in a pressed disc. Wish they weren't doing this.

Either way, I'm sure we'll be getting plenty of good pressed releases from you this year. Plus, you guys probably have one of my most wanted American films of all time. It will be a happy day when that's announced.

Yes, it would have been nice seeing as Kino released the other two, though I find it curious that Billion Dollar Brain is in the While Supplies Last sale seeing as it would be a good title to cross-promote when Ipcress File comes out.

We were close to a deal with Paramount late last year, but it fell through. Funeral in Berlin was on our list and we planned to release the trilogy as a set and renew BDB. But since FIB didn't happen, we decided not to renew the third part, it was a good seller, but not strong enough to warrant a new advance.

Some real insider info.

Do you think the obstacles with Paramount could be surmounted at some point?

KL Insider:

Just very curious, but would you be able to reveal if that would have been a small deal or a large deal like your deals with Universal? Thank you.

At this point, I’m hoping that Paramount’s recent efforts with the “Presents” line and their continuing BD-R releases will be their last push for physical media and they’ll ultimately decide to give up and license their titles out.

Coming July 7th!

That’ll Be the Day (1973)
• Audio Commentary by Entertainment Journalist and Author Bryan Reesman

• Optional English Subtitles
• Trailers

Color 91 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated PG
Britain, 1958. Restless at school and bored with his life, Jim MacLaine (David Essex, Stardust) leaves home to take a series of low-level jobs at a seaside amusement park. With the help of his new friend Mike (The Beatles’ Ringo Starr, Candy), he soon discovers a wild world of cheap sex and petty crime. But when that world comes to a shockingly brutal end, Jim returns home to face his future. As the local music scene explodes, Jim must decide between a life of adult responsibility or a new phenomenon called “rock and roll.” This honest and gritty drama, said to be based on the early life of John Lennon, is considered by fans and critics alike to be the best depiction of the 1950s British rock scene. That'll Be the Day features a soundtrack of classic songs by The Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dion, Del Shannon, Little Richard, Frankie Lymon, Bobby Darin, Ritchie Valens and more, and co-stars another legendary drummer: Keith Moon of The Who.

Probably not a piece of info you want to be using as one of your major selling points for the title. Works as a trigger warning though.
