If Dr Sleep had done well,I read they were thinking of doing more films set in the Shining universe.I thought I read something that they were already developing a Shining prequel film centered around a young Dick Hallorann.

It makes me wonder if this Overlook series would be happening if Dr.Sleep hadn't failed at the box office.Would we be getting more films instead.

I'm glad their is going to be this series though since the universe has rich possibilities but I'm always curious about Hollywood what ifs/aborted projects and how things doing well or not impacts where certain properties go.
