I generally don't like remakes. I do prefer The Departed over Infernal Affairs. To me they are very different. Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. The acting, style, music and languages really set them apart.
Some people just hate remakes because they are remakes. In Taiwan, many people are crazy about Andy Lao, and they didn't give Leo a chance (even though many here saw Titanic 500 times). Some people decided The Departed was inferior before they even saw it, just because it was a rehash of a HK movie. |
