Despite Vilya’s claims, 100% renewable energy is not possible without HUGE sacrifices from consumers. Basically we woul be going back in time 40-50 years.
Despite your paranoia, it is possible if we as a society truly want it. Anything worth achieving requires great effort, but with it come great rewards.

There is no scenario here where movies die. You have conjured up more boogie men killing movies than there are causes of death for us mere mortals.

Give it a rest already; people have serious and real problems to deal with right now without you trying to add your fabricated ones on top of it all. No one needs a Debbie Downer during a pandemic.

How many people would own TVs if they lost power when the sun went down? Serious question. From the hours of 7AM-6PM, most of the population are working. Peek time tv watching is done between 7PM—10PM.

It’s a grim world Vilya, I told you that before. Your glass is half full but sometimes you have to drink it down.

A few blocks away from me some one replaced their entire roof with Tesla roof, along with the largest battery storage on the side of the house. Yes the whole roof is solar. He has trees close to the house also. When they were laying the roof, instead of it being done in a couple of days it took 2 weeks because you just can’t staple or nail it on. Even if the power goes out he’s only good for so many hours. Yes also has a couple of Tesla’s. Is it insurance, no more like vanity.

Just stop. You are being ridiculous.

Now you are back to killing off the TV; you have accused everyone and everything from vegans to Quibi being responsible for the certain death of TVs.

Not only is your fear mongering absurd, worse than that it is unhelpful. It serves no good purpose whatsoever.

Charge batteries during the day

Watch via vr and headphones at night

Easy

This is like when NASA wanted to send a probe to gather data from the sun. Temperature was the problem until it occurred to them to just go at night. Duh

Why would anyone keep a tv if they were only able to view it at weekends at most? Bare in mind that wi fi for streaming services would also not be available in the evening.
Streaming g services would go down the pan also. They wouldn’t be able to make enough money.

No, it does not. How can they prepare when you offer no preparations? All you have said is that life is not worth living should this happen. That is not helpful.

Besides, how can anyone prepare while they are busy laughing at you?

They can laugh all they like. It’s a very real issue. If you research it, you would know that. You aren’t prepared to, so you will never know that until it happens.

No WiFi needed. Get the content before the blackout

We like hard copy remember

Transfer via usb. There’s mobile stuff that has all night battery life. When the sun goes down. You use the batteries.

Can we get back to the current state of doom because this alternate version is clashing with my sunny day just before holiday weekend

Ok, let’s cover this. We lose power when the sun goes down. So we charge laptops, smart glasses, VR, tablets during the day to watch in the evening? So far so good. However, all those devices use wi-fi for streaming content. (Tv and Bluray is out of the question) the masses aren’t going to arse about with transferring stuff via memory sticks. Get out of that one!

What about wood and geothermal and other forms of renewable energy ?

There’s still lots to learn and lots of people learning

Quarantine brought a bit of my own crazy but things are looking better now. I’d say get out side if possible or watch some movies or both.

Time is limited and I don’t love worrying about stuff.

They are viable but would only play a minor part in proceedings. Something like 5-8%.

Do not mention research when you have not linked to any at all.

The only "preparation" that you have implied is to self euthanize:

That isn't preparation; that's defeatism. Defeatism is central to all of your worthless and baseless predictions; there is never any hope offered, just your resignation and doom.

You have not once offered a single piece of constructive advice when making your predictions; it is always "we're screwed, get used to it." That's not helpful and it is not wanted.

At this point I would rather discuss "it's all digital" with you know who. You're making him sound sensible.
