Better than most of his other movies?? What! are you crazy? the movie's plot is a big mess. The story is nonsense and the fight scenes aren't as good as Ong Bak and Tom yum goong. The only good thing about the movie was the fight scenes, but that wasn't enough to save the movie. If you want to see great fighting and a good movie, watch Ip Man or any other Donnie Yen's movies.

It's better than him running around for two hours trying to get his elephant back from a transexual mob boss. Or running around for an hour and a half looking for a statue.

Quite a few parts in the movie did not really make sense to me.. like when he was fighting that animal chick in the tunnel/cave. Was that supposed to be some kind of test? Who was she supposed to be.. just some random off the wall character with no sub story? It was weird they didn't mention anything about her or explain it really. Unless I missed something..

Also,
[Show spoiler] was that dancer towards the end supposed to be his friend from childhood? She looked at him weird when he said his parents name.. yet they did not conclude that story at all.

Come on.. Donnie Yen has been in several sub-par martial arts movies. Flash Point was a bore.. and if you want to complain about plot.. what about Dragon Tiger Gate?

[Show spoiler]The pirate leader said somethign about him having to face his fears int he cave, kind of like Luke did. The girl is the same girl. I think the editing could have been better to make if flow a bit easier.

I still don't understand the ending though.

Maybe the US version will have better subtitles. I remember watching an early/Thai version of Chocolate and the subtitles were terrible. When I bought the Blu-ray they were much better and the story details made more sense. Ong Bak did not come across as bad.. but there might be better subtitles coming.

I could not get into Chocolate too much. I wanted more styles of fighting.

Saw this over the weekend and liked it..saw the first Ong Bak when it first came out, but I don't remember too much about it, so I can't say if part II was better..I will say the action/fighting scenes are damn good, and can rival any fight scenes in a big budget hollywood flick

I just purchased Ong Bak 2 on Blu-Ray, and it isn't playing on my Samsung Blu-Ray player. My player displays that my firmware is up to date. Any suggestions?

I didn't mean all of his movies. Sure, DTG and Flashpoint wasn't great movies but they were good for what they are, an over-the-top comics-style fighting(DTG) and realistic MMA-style(FP). At least those movie's stories made sense and wasn't a jumbo mess like Ong Bak 2 was. Besides, who hasn't been in a few sup-par movies? I know Jackie Chan and Jet Li has. As for Tony Jaa, his last 2 movie was good but only because of the fight scenes. However the stories and his acting was mediocre in those movies. Besides, Donnie Yen hasn't done many new movies. He's just starting to become bigger in Hong Kong nowaday. All I got to say is Donnie Ip's Ip Man, SPL, and Iron Monkey are great movies with great fighting. And he will be in many more great upcoming movies like Ip Man 2 and Bodyguards and Assassins. The guy just has talent and style in the fighting department.
