never had a chance to view the bdp-s300...but the PS3 is outstanding.

as for audio quality...PS3! The bdp-s300 lacks any internal decoding of Dolby TrueHD...the PS3 can internally decode DDTruHD and also output 7.1 PCM.

(also if you search the threads on the bdp-s300, you'll find that its not hdmi 1.3 as advertised.)
