If you have more than one dollar general store near you check them as well. I have three in my area and only one had it. Try 7\11 also. I have seen it there as well, but it has since been sold out there to. If I see any more copy's in my stores I will post it here and mabey I could pick of up for you. Big fan of this movie, even if it is mostly terrible. I have a lot of nostalgic association with it as I was really getting into my movies big time when it came out. I've always been fascinated with failed blockbusters and Avengers fits the bill nicely.

Flops usually have a far more interesting history than hits. Have you read Fiasco: A History of Hollywood's Iconic Flops? It's an fascinating read.

Yes it is out of print. It is on iTunes digital for $9.99. I bought it and watched it recently.

Many other warner bros blu rays seem to be going out of print too!!

There’s some foreign releases of the disc that will work just fine too. Spain, Canada were versions that I previously had and sold.

Try eBay. It’s going to be expensive though.

I would recommend the iTunes or other digital version for $9.99.

The original edit certainly made a lot more sense (Emma Peel being de Wynter's niece, the Peel clone destroying the Prospero facility, the de Wynter knife-torture scene, et al) and there a number of reasons what fuelled the lack of confidence which saw it hacked down by nearly 40 minutes.

The most likely are the complete lack of chemistry between Fiennes and Thurman, Fiennes' association with The English Patient (which had American Oscar viewers tuning out in droves when it started sweeping the board), Thurman's leaden performance/dodgy accent and the fantastical/surreal nature of the plot.

Given how Warner Bros used to put destruction orders on unused elements after about 15 years, it's unlikely the original materials exist at all, let alone in good enough shape to stitch it back together.

That'd be tragic if the unused elements no longer exist.

There's never gonna be a great movie in here, but there's definitely one that will make better sense and be more fun. I mean, I like the movie (sort of) as it stands. The leads are miscast but there's a lot of good (wacky) stuff in it.

Shout or Arrow getting it would be the best chance it has of getting the original footage restored.

WHV would probably not even do this one.
