it can have been both things at once

again this was not the mid-90s or later, people could not quite like something as much as something earlier with out going insane about how it destroyed all life in the universe

sure the hoverboard and self-lacing sneakers became cultural phenomena and people liked the movie but there were some quibbles over some dark parts, not quite enough 2015 and so on and, in my circles at least, I generally heard and saw back then that 3 was ranked a bit above 2 (of course back then it was mostly just BBS and later early internet and it wasn't all connected like today so maybe opinions on this were mixed with some particular parts of some countries going 2>3 and some 3>2 or some circles in some areas one way and some another way, all I can say is all I saw was 3 a bit above 2 back then)

It's probably just a Photoshopped paper element on cardboard.

I've had no problems out of my Alien Anthology set. No playback issues and I've had that set for 8 years.

That's what I was thinking. I am waiting patiently for the pre-orders to go up, and soon as they do, I will pay for it upfront. Exciting times. Plus love to support HMV over the others.

Preach!

Srsly, when studios release Steelbooks to appeal to uber-nerds and then ruin them with awful newly commissioned artwork, it genuinely baffles me.

It's the same old movie.

If the French edition ends up being on HMV, there's no way to import that to the US, correct? I don't think HMV ships to the US.

I hate Steelbooks but hate cardboard sleeves more.

It was common knowledge that parts II and III were being filmed back to back and that part II was just a set up for part III.

I remember many people at the time saying they weren't even going to see part II until part III came out figuring that theaters would run double or triple features (though few did in proper order; some drive-ins ran part III followed by part II due to studio rules that require the new film play first.)
