This may be a dumb question.I pre-ordered the upcoming Target steelbook of the Rob Zombie Firefly trilogy(House of 1000 Corpses,The Devil's Rejects and 3 From Hell) that comes out in a few weeks.
I know the content is the same on the disks from the previous releases of each film but in regards to House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, should I be concerned the disks are the same from the original 2006 release of Devils and original 2007 release of House?Or I guess,I'm asking if these are new pressings of the previous disk releases and not the exact same disks made in 2006 & 2007?Not the old bad disks from those first original releases of the first two films being stuck into the new steelbook? |

I see French blu-rays getting a lot of flak in this thread, understandably. However, I think it's mainly blu-rays issued in France by French companies you need to watch out for (i.e. Gaumont, Potemkine, Pathé, TF1, etc.). I don't think French blu-rays from Hollywood studios have a failure rate much different from those distributed in the United States. As I live in France, it's simply most cost effective to buy the local release of Hollywood catalog titles like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Heat, The Searchers, etc. Just my two cents. And besides, the American studios often have a single European plant at which all discs intended for the continent are pressed.

Apparently one user's 4-disc edition of Planet Earth has bronzed and become unreadable. My 6 disc set I bought 4-5 years ago is a-ok. |

I may be jumping the gun on this one, but I watched I Love You, Beth Cooper last night, which played through from beginning to end, however there were 3 times in the movie where the image pixelated for a split-second. Disc surface is immaculate.
This being an early Fox blu-ray, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on its way out. |

What Just Happened? with Robert DeNiro released by Magnolia has completely bronzed with dots all over the place. It still plays, and I fast forwarded through it very slowly and never got stuck. Anyone that has this disc have the same issue?

Can you please follow the instructions in the first post of this thread and provide the mold IFPI number? That will let us know where your early Magnolia BD was manufactured and help better inform the situation. Thanks. |

The one closer to the circle says M2S1 (it's backwards for some reason) The one within the line says VA 10172 1A VD03 (also backwards) A little further down the line there is something that say FA and two others numbers, but they are tiny can I can't really tell what they are. |

Doesn't say IFPI, just M2S1, and yes it's in the clear part of the plastic at the very center. I guess it would be the MOULD code as mentioned in the first post.

I noticed the two new Vestron releases from Lionsgate (Little Monsters and Shivers) have the "DISCS MADE IN MEXICO" stamp on the back of the case.
I wonder if LionsGate has finally given up their garbage pressing plant? If so, cause for celebration! |

A few days ago I just found out that my King of New York from Lionsgate had bit the dust. It was to be expected so I wasn't surprised, since their Basic Instinct and Saw III have stopped playing altogether. I've re-purchased Basic Instinct from the UK and Saw III a long time ago, but I will buy King of New York in 4K UHD when it's released to replace my blu-ray that went kaput.
