If you look at the slash as if it's a V, then you could technically count it as the 5 in the title.

![]() Considering since most of the cast and directors started following her when this movie was first announced, and how Courrney Cox commenting on her picture that she cant wait to meet her (then deleted it), I would be surprised if she's not in it in some way. |

I was in college when I saw the original SCREAM. Went to the theatre on a cold January night after classes. I had no idea what to expect, other than it was a new slasher film, something that hadn't really been made in awhile. Was unfamiliar with most of the cast, except Drew Barrymore and Courteney Cox. Knew Wes Craven from ELM STREET, but otherwise was going in totally blind. Two hours later, I was floored.
SCREAM was unlike any horror film I had seen. It was new. It was fresh. It was funny. It was scary. The theatre was full, and I remember the audience laughing at the right moments, and gasping at the right moments. The ending was a classic WTF moment. I remember driving home in the dark, replaying the film in my head. It was spooky coming home to an empty house. But for days (and weeks) afterward, I couldn't stop thinking about the movie. In those pre-internet days, I began reading as many newspaper and magazine reviews as I could find. One critic claimed SCREAM probably wouldn't start a new slasher boom, that it was a one-off film, lol. I saw all the sequels theatrically on opening day, but to me none of the subsequent experiences matched the fun and electricity of the crowd I experienced the first film with. Plus, I saw SCREAM 2 during the day, so I wasn't as jumpy going home. I have high hopes for this fifth installment. As with the original, I'm not familiar with a lot of the new actors (aside from Selena Gomez and Marley Shelton), so I'm going to be seeing a lot of unfamiliar faces. But I'm very much looking forward to this. Would love to have that past experience of seeing the first film replicated, with a full and appreciative audience. ![]() |

I remember when Scream came out i was 5. My parents rented the VHS when it came out and of course they wouldn't let me watch it. I saw a scene or 2 but that was about it. I don't think I actually saw the entire movie until after i watched Scary Movie with my cousin a few years later.

Was in Jr. High, rented it on VHS. Finished the movie in my room, stopped the tape, rewound it, and watched it again. Was a big part of developing my movie obsession.
Got my mom to sneak me into Scream 2 opening night after a d*ckhead usher tried stopping me from seeing it. LOVED it as much a the first one. Was brutally disappointed in part 3. Crushed. Still by far the worst one. Loved 4, thought it was a nice return to form. Can't really see what else there is to say with 5 but hope its good! |
