Question is: do you understand TREK. Have you watched the new shows all the way through? Do you also understand they're not supposed to be TNG.

TOS to TNG to DS9 is very different TREK. So which one is the new shows supposed to ape? We're in a post Battlestar Galactica / Game of Thrones / Sopranos /Walking Dead era in television fantasy/sci-fi/drama. TNG reflected the late '80s & early '90s. I don't see why you insist the new shows reflect that too.
I don't insist on anything, Pete.

Anyway, let Trek be Trek. Push boundaries, fine, but damn, know your peanut gallery and give them the peanuts.

Only talking a guess but the international release is probably being held up due to the deal with Amazon, I suspect we will see it in future, but that hasn't stopped me ordering this.

Every Trek release has been region free so would be 99% sure this will be too but given no international releases so far it might buck the trend.

The last comment in the comments section at TrekCore says it's region free.

http://blog.trekcore.com/2020/09/win...-1-on-blu-ray/

I will report back when I receive mine which is most likely to be next week, hopefully.

Does anyone know if there is a digital download included in the Blu-ray or a release on iTunes announced?

CBS/Paramount do do digital with their complete season series releases on TREK (TOS, TNG, DSC and now PIC). They've only done it on a couple of the standalone TNG "movies". I have the PIC S1 disc and there's only an insert with advertising the Picard countdown comics.

Only English for language and subtiles?

The French steelbook edition is announced with English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Japanese language.

Too bad, Paramount didn't continue to offer multiple languages, as with the other Star Trek series.

Got mine through today, they are really starting to skimp on the promos, no trailer and no episode promos. DISCO S1 had trailer and episode promos, S2 didn't have any trailers but had episode promos.

It is a real shame that these don't get included in Blu-ray quality I really enjoy those.

So I just finished the Bluray and I thought it was an excellent series, still humming the theme song. I had no preconceived notions going in and was just entertained from start to finish. The video quality was top notch and the sound was awesome as well, glad I bought the disk.

Looking forward to season 2 on Bluray in 2022!
