Update:
The app works fine on my TV and phone. Logged in on the site with the browser on my phone. Went back to my laptop and still got the error message. Closed the window, tried again and it opened right up. Not sure what happened. |

I'm curious if/when they'll merge libraries? I don't usually buy from Fandango but last year they had a better Hallmark Christmas sale then Vudu but didn't bother since they don't share but if they end up merging I would take advantage of their sales this year. It would be nice if they were more transparent.

If that is true, we definitely need a library merge soon. It might have already been done if this year hadn't forced companies to adjust their workforce situtation.

The wording is now more what it actually is (according to the current Terms of Service and legal reality), "purchased" and not "owned". Therefore may be revoked at any moment according to the whim of the Service Provider, and/or Studio, and/or Distributor, and/or MA (or demise thereof, of any of those). There's a whole nightmare apocalypse of 'worse case scenarios' in the Terms of Service, which are not at all customer friendly, but it's in no one's best interest to muck up ownership and availability. In the recent past we have seen studios and vendors make efforts to protect ownership of titles (like when UV closed); especially so in Vudu's case which keeps delisted titles viewable (versus iTunes ripping them away). The general gamble of digital licensing isn't really specific to one vendor or another. |

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I've been out of the loop for several months now. But since fandango bought vudu, do they still do the $2 credit promotion? For some reason, I no longer get the emails and it's been like that since last year. The only emails I get from vudu is from purchases or the weekly deals.

yea totally motivated IMO. Luckily they made a mistake and used the language that we own our titles if you purchased them before the new language was instated. Could mean a nice big refund check if they ever pull content or migrate elsewhere. |
