I passed on the regular edition due to the cardboard sleeves and went with the steelbook... but have mine set for pickup on release day.

I got tired of ordering steelbooks from BB that came in dented and dinged in their horrible packaging... It was a literal coin flip as to whether or not I would get a pristine copy so I just decided if I'm gonna have to go to the store anyway might as well pick it up there.

Good luck with yours.

Also... BB website shows "shipping unavailable" to my zip code which is kinda weird. Sold out? Looks like store pickup was best choice anyway.

If only Warners sold through zoom. Can’t see Fantastic Friday, or even Super Saturday coming for Lord of the Rings from anybody else.

For those who have it, how many minutes/or seconds of Eric Stoltz footage are we getting?
Very curious to watch some of this.

No different to the footage in the previous releases.

Warner have their own shop which often offers pre-release delivery and also have a 10% discount voucher.

Same boat here. I usually only buy steelbooks when I have no other option. I'm a sucker for individual cases and try to avoid box sets or double packs. Steelbooks seemed like the best option here.

I've never ordered from Best Buy so now I'm expecting the worst. I'll post the results on Saturday.

Good luck... I've gotten my entire collection from BB for the most part... an elite plus member on steroids. It's been a good experience other than the random damaged steelbook.

On a side note, the BB website just updated from $69.99 to $64.99 for the steelbook set, so I cancelled and reordered to get the better price. I passed on the other set due to the cardboard sleeves... so yeah, steelbooks seem best here.

Anecdotal, but my last few steelbook orders from BB have been packaged incredibly well. They use those molded air cushions and tape it shut on the side where it’s wrapped around and on the top and bottom so it doesn’t slide out. It’s been real good and haven’t had an issue with the last 6 steelbooks I’ve gotten so maybe they’ve heard the complaints loud enough and changed some shipping practices.

Unhappy

Someone mentioned there were foley effects created for the previous Blu-ray releases. Are the DVDs prior to them untouched or they effected too? If that's the case these UHD's will be using the same sound stems.

And there is no original audio to boot.

Yeah. I’ve used them once before, but heard mixed things about their service of late from others who frequent the forums. I don’t want to risk any potential delays to my Rings steelbooks, so am sticking with Amazon on this one.

I just received word that my BB steelbook has been dispatched via UPS. Thank goodness it wasn't USPS.
