Got my copy from Gruv today. Came in a bubble mailer and shockingly had no damage. I will echo the sentiments of "best $10 I've spent", at least for this year. I watched the first movie and it totally froze up prior to Doc riding down the clock tower (it was either counter 1:36:10 or 1:46:10, can't remember exactly offhand). After cleaning some dust and prints off, it played fine here.

Got my $10 GRUV eBay order today.

Arrived in fantastic condition even after being shipped in a bubble mailer.

Welp got mine today from Amazon, just put on the first film and it paused and skipped twice. First during dinner at Young Lorraine's home and then immediately right after when Marty meets Young Doc.

What are the odds I request a replacement and it just doesn't work too? Or next time it's one of the other films. All in all, I hate this packaging. It essentially guarantees the discs will be scratched.

Mine both played perfectly and were scratch free!

Also, it wouldn't have been a tip of the hat to 1% of the audience. That's not what I'm suggesting. The audience had ZERO knowledge of what happened behind the scenes at the time. This would've been simply a professional courtesy on behalf of the filmmakers to Stoltz. As I said, an olive branch.

Let me ask you a question: why did they make Seamus look so much like Stoltz in the movie? Pure coincidence?

Found this on reddit via Google images, so clearly I'm not the only one who recognized the resemblance:
Yeah I could certainly see that and honestly part of the reason part 3 falls a bit behind the first two is that the setting feels a bit too "reference heavy". The 2015 section in the second film can get away with that a lot more as the film isn't really supported by it being legit but the 1885 setting is really what the third film stands or falls on and I always felt it needed a bit more grit to it than it had, feels a bit too "wild west theme park" to me.

They don't have to scratch, just be careful. I turn the page over so I'm pulling the disc out upside down and try to make sure the bottom of the disc doesn't make too much contact. The Universal digibooks are fine. It's the Sony ones that scratched my discs, mainly because there were folds on the inside of the sleeve...

About time travel and the way the movies' logic works, they do a fantastic job explaining it,especially through Doc, without being dry and academic. It always remains FUN.

The only glaring flaw in that logic is, of course, old Biff time traveling to the past to give the Almanach to his younger self only to return to the exact same future he left, thus contradicting Doc's alternate timelines explanation on the chalkboard a few minutes later...

I was being kind of facetious, I don't think they'll just steal my $10. Other folks here getting theirs has given me some hope, though.

You could say I spose that the photo in the original suggests some kind of delayed effect shifting forward in time with Marty's siblings vanishing in order of their birth. So old Biff beats that effect and reaches 2015 before it changes but its happened in 1985 before Mart and Doc get there.

I tried everything to eliminate the skipping on the first disc on my 800M2 with no luck. My replacement from Best Buy will be arriving later today, hopefully I just got a bum disc.

Interesting take! But if so then the shifting only occurs when the plot calls for it. I always saw the family picture as a clever device to let the audience easily know how the future is affected, with the gradual disapperarances/reappearences only used for dramatic effect.
Maybe there's more to it than that but it is never explicitly explained.
Doesn't matter really, this trilogy is legendary!

Yup, I'd buy this. And we can see that 'shift' occurring as Biff writhes about in pain after exiting the DeLorean in 2015 (if I remember correctly, the intended implication was that 1985A Lorraine would have eventually gotten sick of Biff's shit and shot him).

Got ahold of someone from Gruv and the lady says it’s on back order. I asked how it is when everyone is getting their orders. Then asked when they will be getting more in and she said there’s no way to know that. But she did say I will get my order and again I asked when and am I going to have to wait a month or 2 to get it. Still no answer. How do these people have jobs and they don’t know anything? It’s like people who work at Walmart yet they can’t tell you where anything is. So basically it is a waste to call.

It could be because Doc and Marty hadn't left 2015 yet when Biff went back in time to give the sports book to himself in 1955 and then came back to 2015. So Doc and Marty were still stuck in the original timeline at that point. It's only when they went back to 1985 that the timeline changed. Then Doc told Marty they couldn't go back to 2015 because it would be under the new timeline. So basically they had to leave 2015 for the alternate timeline to kick in.
