Yesterday, I received several PM’s concerning insiders posting “leaks” or a “heads-up” to fellow members on this forum and was asked about what my feelings were on the merit of that practice, so, again I’ll answer en masse.
Personally, in regards to me -
1. I never reveal information whether online or otherwise that is not readily known to the general public without
first receiving explicit permission from the source(s). If something is “leaked” by me, the major players involved have no problem with it getting *out* a little early. Common sense would dictate, that if they
did have a problem with it, I or any other “insider” would never receive such privileged information again from that source….or others for that matter.
2. I think that getting early(otherwise unknown) information on great sites like forum.blu-ray.com even before the mainstream press gets it and is able to reveal it, is one the reasons why people come to visit this forum to begin with and they enjoy being *in the know* before everyone else.
3. Modestly, I am just following in the steps of another that has set a precedent for such behavior, the below being just one of many examples in the past (I’m just generally more specific because I think readers appreciate that

Like I said a few posts back, it is always best to gauge one’s credibility on past posting history rather than *out of the blue* current statements……………for example,

Really, I am shocked how folks leak information like this to anonymous people on forums. B.T.W., as an aside,
I’ve served on a couple Ethics Committees (yes, they have such things, with monthly meetings and such) for a professional organization in the past and revealing the real names (or incorrectly attempting to do so) of individuals/clients such as talkstr8t or paidgeek when they have explicitly requested to the administration of the venue to remain anonymous would be considered one of the most serious ethics violations, which would deem rather immediate and substantive disciplinary action.
P.S.
Here’s another “leak” that
was obviously not O.K. with the representative of “another company” and without getting or even attempting to get his permission to post such a thing, it appears one was intentionally
