I can’t speak for Beatboy or anybody else that has said or inferred that something is forthcoming shortly. I’m just working my arse off during the week trying to prevent bad news from occurring and trying to make good news happen. |

Does that answer your question ? Or, if you need a more immediate data collection, I would suggest for you to enter the militarized zone (at your own risk) on AVMS and find the thread started I’m told by a guy named Steeb which is apparently a eulogy to that particular mod’s early retirement. I would venture a guess, that if you quickly scanned the well known high profile members that were present to offer their condolences and compared it to those high profile members that were absent and apparently unable to do so, I’ll bet you could form a clear hypothesis. However, I may be wrong, as I never read it. And my current thoughts regarding the new *look* of the Insider’s thread over there post Paramount deci$sion……this poster below took the words right out of my mouth. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=2950 ^ Of course, that begs the question, well Tom, what on earth would prompt you to say that ? |

Personally, in regards to me - 1. I never reveal information whether online or otherwise that is not readily known to the general public without first receiving explicit permission from the source(s). If something is “leaked” by me, the major players involved have no problem with it getting *out* a little early. Common sense would dictate, that if they did have a problem with it, I or any other “insider” would never receive such privileged information again from that source….or others for that matter. 2. I think that getting early(otherwise unknown) information on great sites like forum.blu-ray.com even before the mainstream press gets it and is able to reveal it, is one the reasons why people come to visit this forum to begin with and they enjoy being *in the know* before everyone else. 3. Modestly, I am just following in the steps of another that has set a precedent for such behavior, the below being just one of many examples in the past (I’m just generally more specific because I think readers appreciate that ![]() Quote:
from ………….. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=2372 Like I said a few posts back, it is always best to gauge one’s credibility on past posting history rather than *out of the blue* current statements……………for example, Quote:
from……………. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=2846 B.T.W., as an aside, I’ve served on a couple Ethics Committees (yes, they have such things, with monthly meetings and such) for a professional organization in the past and revealing the real names (or incorrectly attempting to do so) of individuals/clients such as talkstr8t or paidgeek when they have explicitly requested to the administration of the venue to remain anonymous would be considered one of the most serious ethics violations, which would deem rather immediate and substantive disciplinary action. P.S. Here’s another “leak” that was obviously not O.K. with the representative of “another company” and without getting or even attempting to get his permission to post such a thing, it appears one was intentionally “using it as a tool to manipulate the situation.” Quote:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...14#post9580014 What is the word, I’m looking for? I know……….. hypocrisy, that’s it. Yes, but even when transgressed against, paidgeek can be polite. ![]() Again, past posting history is the best indicator of the veracity of yet to be proven current statements. Mods, please keep this post right here, “on the record”. |

P.S. And a tip of the hat here to Darin, who is particularly adept at revealing the technical inconsistencies of some “insiders” over the course of time, as he too has a good memory. |

To any Insider that wishes to comment...
Here is a clip from Scott H. in his latest blog at HDiH- "Microsoft corporate vp, consumer media technology Amir Majidimehr applied for media access to Disney home entertainment's web site the same week that Paramount/DreamWorks announced they were abandoning the Disney-backed Blu-ray format. Can't criticize the guy for trying, I guess, and at least he was completely open and candid about who he is -- listed his accurate name, title, affiliation, and contact info. But holy cow, what kind of shenanigan or desperate act is this? Either he thinks the people at Disney are idiots, he's up to something, or he curiously believed the studio would be happy to grant him the access. Disney Home Entertainment's worldwide head of communications Eric Maehara told me he laughed hysterically at this request and said that once Amir can get properly accredited as a legitimate journalist then Maehara will be happy to give him access. "Who knows," Maehara said, "If he's lucky and i'm in a good mood, maybe i'll even give him a Blu-ray screener." What could Amir poosibly want with media access to Disney? It make me feel all good inside to hear how Eric M. responded. |
